Apple on Thursday officially sent out media invites to its annual fall keynote, where it will undoubtedly unveil new iPhones and other exciting new products.

The iPhone-focused announcement event, titled “By Innovation Only” this year, will take place at 10 a.m. Pacific Time on Tuesday, Sept. 10 at Apple Park’s Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, California.

As usual, Apple will live-stream the event on its website and through the Apple TV special events app. iDrop News will be covering the event as it happens live. Here’s what you should expect.

What Will Apple Announce?

First and foremost, Apple is largely expected to announce its trio of so-called iPhone 11 devices at the fall event.

Those devices, some of which may carry a Pro moniker, will sport some major upgrades in the camera department. The two OLED models will pack a triple-lens camera setup, while the 6.1-inch LCD model is rumored to get a dual-lens camera.

Across the board, you should expect camera improvements. The triple-lens devices could feature a wider field-of-view, better low-light performance, and a new Smart Frame feature that allows users to add more of the frame back into an image even it was accidentally cropped out.

The slate of new iPhones are rumored to sport two-way wireless charging features and larger batteries. They’re also likely to replace 3D Touch with Haptic Touch. It’s also pretty certain that they’ll pack Apple’s upcoming A13 processor, as well as a new AMX co-processor.

The three devices are also expected to be more durable than past iPhones and could feature a new matte finish and new color options.

Apple also regularly announces new Apple Watch models alongside its iPhones, and this year probably won’t be any different. The upcoming Apple Watches are expected to be a more “muted” upgrade, so there may not be many notable new features besides titanium and ceramic case options.

The Cupertino tech giant also has a new 16-inch MacBook Pro, a 10.2-inch iPad, and new iPad Pro models on its upcoming product roadmap. It is not clear if those devices will debut at the September event, or if Apple will save them for an October keynote.

It’s also likely that Apple will announce the release date of iOS 13 and iPadOS, macOS Catalina, watchOS 6, and tvOS 13. Expect additional details about Apple TV+ and Apple Arcade, too.

When Will New Devices Ship?

  • If Apple sticks to its usual release patterns, the new iPhones and other products will become available for preorder on Friday, Sept. 13.
  • They’re likely hit store shelves and ship out to customers on the following Friday, Sept. 20.

Apple also releases major new versions of its operating systems a couple of days before new iPhones launch. Based on that, it’s likely that iOS 13 and Apple’s other updates will debut sometime during the week of Sept. 16.
