iOS 27 Is Coming Next Monday

Following its presentation, Apple officially confirmed that iOS 27 is coming to an iPhone near you on Monday, September 14. That’s quicker than expected, which is great news for all of us who have been waiting to try this new software update. 

What’s New in iOS 27

While iOS 27 isn’t as big an update as iOS 26, it still brings a bunch of new features to most iPhones.

Perhaps the biggest change is the new Siri app. This app takes Apple’s virtual assistant to another level, finally delivering new features like personal context and the ability to connect to multiple apps at once. This way, you’ll be able to ask Siri for things like what the recipe was that you and your friends were talking about, to show you pictures with a specific person on them, and so much more. 

Additionally, Apple Intelligence is coming to more apps. For instance, Safari will include a new Notify Me feature that will alert you when a specific change happens on supported websites. You won’t need to constantly update a site hoping for a change; your iPhone will do it for you.

And perhaps the coolest new feature is the ability to create specific shortcuts simply by describing them to the Shortcuts app. You can ask for something simple or a bit more complicated. Of course, the app might not be able to do it all at first, but it already works pretty well.

Which iPhones Support iOS 27?

The best part about iOS 27 is that it doesn’t leave an iPhone behind. Apple has already confirmed that all iPhones that support iOS 26 will also support iOS 27.

This means that if you have an iPhone 11 or a later model (including the second-generation iPhone SE), you’ll be able to install iOS 27.

This is huge news, especially because Apple also confirmed that iOS 27 will make older iPhones faster and snappier. You’ll open apps up to 30% faster, and load pictures up to 70% faster after you capture them. 

Get Ready for iOS 27

Now that we know when the new software update is coming, it’s a good time to get your iPhone ready. As you know, even full public software updates can carry some issues, especially when they first launch, so it’s a good idea to back up your iPhone before you install the update. 

Additionally, make sure you have enough storage on your iPhone. We recommend clearing at least 20 GB to 30 GB of free storage to give your iPhone enough temporary headroom to unpack and install the update. After that’s done, all we need to do is wait until next Monday to download and try out the final version of iOS 27 for yourself.
