While the majority of us are laser-focused on the unveiling of Apple’s iPhone 7, let’s not forget that it’s also been rumored that Cupertino’s 2016 flagship won’t be the only star of the show tomorrow morning.

In addition to the hotly anticipated iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, it has been rumored that the Silicon Valley tech-giant could also be unveiling its 2nd generation wearable device — the Apple Watch, as well. And while the forthcoming Apple Watch refresh isn’t expected to feature any major design changes over the original Watch, a recently surfaced video appears to confirm at least a few rumored impending changes to the Cupertino-company’s 2nd-gen wearable.

Posted to YouTube over the weekend by Byte, the short clip appears to show both Apple Watch and Apple Watch 2 components in a side-by-side comparison. The man in the video then demonstrates, using sophisticated, digital measuring equipment, that the Apple Watch 2 will be both markedly thinner than the original Watch, and, that it will feature a sizably bigger battery, as well.

Technically speaking, the video shows us that the Apple Watch 2 will boast a considerably thinner 2.12 – 2.86mm display — which is actually quite a bit thinner, in comparison, to the current Apple Watch’s 2.99 – 3.5mm display. Several previous reports have alluded to a thinner chassis on the Apple Watch 2, so these measurements coincide quite nicely with what we’ve been hearing about the forthcoming wearable so far.

Additionally, Byte notes that a thinner display is also a predisposing factor that alludes to a bigger battery for the Apple Watch 2. We’ve already seen plenty of reports suggesting that the Watch 2 will boast a bigger battery — technically speaking, a 334 mAh Li-Ion battery pack, in comparison to the original Watch’s more modest 246 mAh battery.

However, while the apparent step up in juice capacity might not seem all that significant on paper, Apple Watch 2 customers, according to Byte, can expect as much as a 35% increase in battery performance.

The bigger battery will almost certainly lead to increased performance and longevity on the Apple Watch 2 — no doubt about it. However, also worth mentioning is that Apple plans to equip the Watch 2 with additional sensors (for GPS tracking, improved fitness and health monitoring, etc.) which are likely to place a bigger demand on the battery, in and of themselves. So it’ll be interesting to see how the device holds up under practical, day-to-day usage patterns.

Finally, Byte shows us what’s alleged to be a gasket of some sort, which will apparently improve the Watch 2’s water resistance — however, whether the wearable will be certified as a legitimately waterproofed gadget still remains to be seen.

Not for long, though: if rumors pan out to be true, Apple should be unveiling the Watch 2 tomorrow morning for all to see. So make sure to check back in with us after 10 am Pacific Standard Time to get the inside scoop!
