Just like every year, Apple will launch a brand new iPhone in 2023. And also like every year, we’ve already heard a whole bunch of rumors and expectations to let us know what the new iPhone 15 lineup will have in store for us.

From a new USB-C port to a better chip and even a sleeker body, there are definitely a lot of new things coming to the iPhone 15 to get you excited. If you don’t know whether you should wait for the iPhone 15 or just get the iPhone 14 now, some of these new features might change your mind.

USB-C Is Coming

It’s been a long time in the works, but it seems Apple is finally going to bite the bullet and make the switch away from Lightning to USB-C.

That’s right; there have been many rumors that Apple will finally feature a USB-C port on the iPhone 15.

Of course, this isn’t happening simply because Apple chose to make the change. Instead, new rules from the European Union will require that by the end of 2024, all smartphones sold in Europe must use a common charging standard in the form of a USB-C port.

Of course, Apple has no choice but to comply with EU regulations unless it wants to stop selling the iPhone in Europe. This makes it certain we’ll eventually see a new port on the iPhone. Of course, Apple still has one more year to comply, so there’s still a possibility we won’t see this change in 2023, despite the rumors.

Dynamic Island Will Be Available on all iPhones

One of the biggest new features on the iPhone 14 Pro is the Dynamic Island. While the name wasn’t everyone’s favorite, this new feature replaces the larger notch with a camera cutout that can be used in new and creative ways. For instance, users can quickly change songs, check timers, and more.

Unfortunately, this feature is only available on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, making it a pretty exclusive feature. Fortunately, it seems that will change with this year’s iPhone lineup.

Rumor has it that the entire iPhone 15 lineup will use Dynamic Island, meaning you won’t have to be bothered by a huge notch at the top of your screen.

A New A17 Bionic Chip

To nobody’s surprise, Apple will also launch a brand new A17 Bionic chip for its new iPhone lineup. While we don’t know the exact details of this new processor, it’s bound to make at least some of the iPhone 15 models faster and more powerful than ever.

Unfortunately, this new processor will probably be exclusive to the more expensive iPhone 15 Pro models since Apple started using older chips for the regular iPhone 14 models last year.

That means that the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will likely feature the same A16 Bionic chip currently used in the iPhone 14 Pro. That’s still a performance beast, but it won’t be as good as the A17 Bionic.

Periscope Camera Lens For Better Zoom

The new feature will be great for people who love taking pictures. Apparently, Apple is planning to add a new periscope camera lens that will allow a better optical zoom when taking pictures.

Of course, not all of it is good news. According to the rumors, Apple might make this feature exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro Max, meaning you’ll need to spend quite a bit of money if you want the best camera Apple has to offer.

Even if those rumors are wrong, this will still be a feature exclusive to the Pro models.

Apple Might Be Getting Rid of Physical Buttons

There have been rumors that Apple plans to get rid of physical buttons and instead use something called capacitive or solid-state buttons

This means that instead of volume buttons and a switch, the iPhone 15 lineup could get buttons that are similar to the Home Button on the iPhone 7. That is, it won’t actually be a physical button but it’ll feel like one, giving you a haptic response when you press it.

Unfortunately, this feature might not actually make it to the iPhone 15. We aren’t sure about it just yet, but the latest rumors point out that Apple is scrapping that idea for this year’s iPhone. We’ll have to wait and see, though.

A New Customizable Action Button

Apple is said to be working on a new action button for the iPhone 15 Pro lineup. If you’ve heard that before, it’s because Apple already featured an Action Button on the Apple Watch Ultra

The Apple Watch Ultra’s action button can be used to open an app or you can customize it for other functions in the Watch’s settings. We’re expecting Apple will give this new action button a similar treatment.

According to the rumors, this action button will come to replace the mute switch that we all know and love. You’ll probably be able to use it to silence your iPhone, but it surely won’t be the same.

A Titanium Body

Speaking of the Apple Watch Ultra, Apple is apparently thinking of changing the design of the iPhone 15 Pro lineup to use a titanium frame.

By now, we’re all used to the stainless steel body on the iPhone Pro models, but this will give the newer iPhones a sleeker design that’s always welcomed. Plus, it’ll match well with the body of the Apple Watch Ultra.

We Might Finally See Wi-Fi 6E on the iPhone

Wi-Fi 6E is definitely not new at this point, but we might finally see it on the iPhone 15 this year. Or at least on some of the iPhone 15 models.

Wi-Fi 6E lets devices use the 6 GHz spectrum. As of right now, most devices use the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, but this opens a new spectrum for a better and more stable connection. Not only that, but it’s also faster, and it doesn’t have as much latency.

We don’t know for sure yet, but if Apple does use Wi-Fi 6E, we might only see it on the iPhone 15 Pro models.

We Might See Thinner Bezels

This might sound like a minor change, but it’s definitely worth the hype. According to some new rumors by reputable Apple leakers, the company might use slightly thinner bezels on the new iPhone 15 lineup.

Additionally, these new bezels might be slightly curved around the edges to give them a new feel and look.

Get Excited for the iPhone 15

This is just the tip of the iceberg. There are other tons of other rumors and leaks that tell us the iPhone 15 lineup will be worth the wait.

Unfortunately, it seems like most of the newer and cooler features will be exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro lineup, which means we’ll need to spend a little more if we want to enjoy everything Apple has in store for us. You better start using Apple’s savings account.
