Pros: An ingenious folding design that shrinks into an ultra-portable, shirt-pocket footprint and automatically powers down when closed. Premium, desktop-class customization via an adaptive touch sensor and Actions Ring tools.
Cons: Lacks the robust, full-handed ergonomic comfort of a dedicated daily driver like the MX Master 4. Moving between a Mac and an iPad is a bit clunky with physical controls on the bottom.
Bottom Line: The Logitech Mobi Fold is a whimsical, brilliantly engineered triumph for the mobile workstation. It perfectly balances ultra-light travel convenience with high-end customization, making it an essential companion for any MacBook user on the move.

We briefly interrupt our ongoing WWDC 2026 and iOS 27 coverage to bring you something completely different. Today, Logitech announced the Mobi Fold, the company’s clever new take on an ultra-portable mouse — and it’s more unique and whimsical than anything we’ve seen before in this category.

While Apple’s MacBook trackpads are second to none by a long shot, that style of pointing device isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. Sometimes you need to feel an old-school mouse in your hand. Unfortunately, even the most compact mice are one more thing you have to find room for in your bag — and that’s becoming even more of a challenge as the all-day battery life of modern MacBooks leaves us traveling lighter than ever.

That’s where the Mobi Fold comes in. Logitech invited me to a press briefing a few weeks ago and provided me with an early access unit. I’ve been using it on the go ever since, and it really is a game-changer for those times when my MacBook Pro trackpad just won’t cut it.

The Flip Phone of Travel Mice

As the name implies, what Logitech has done here is create a foldable mouse. Granted, it’s more like a “flip” if we’re going to compare it with smartphones, but that’s just semantics.

Logitech’s trick here is to use the hinge itself as the apex of the unfolded mouse. Only the front and back edges make contact with whatever surface you’re using it on, yet it still manages to provide comfortable mousing ergonomics. Of course, it’s no MX Master 4, but I’d put it above every other portable mouse I’ve used over the years.

In addition to a robust hinge that’s rated for fifteen years of regular folding and a drop-tested, dust-resistant exterior, the Mobi Fold also packs in some pretty advanced technology for its diminutive size. The standard two buttons, which offer quiet clicks to minimize distractions, are joined by an adaptive touch sensor in the middle button position that offers precise scrolling and hides two more buttons.

Unfolding Desktop Power on the Go

These buttons default to front and back, but can be customized in the Logi Options+ app to do just about anything else — including calling up the Actions Ring that debuted with last year’s update. That’s an ideal bonus for someone like me who has come to rely on these quick-access tools via the MX Master 4 at my desk but had to make do without them on the go.

Still, the coolest part of the Mobi Fold by far is right there in the name: the folding factor. Flip the Mobi Fold closed and it’s not only reduced to an eminently pocketable 66 x 57 x 21 mm form factor that can easily fit into a shirt pocket, but it also automatically powers off. There are no switches or buttons to fuss with here: open the Mobi Fold and it’s ready to go, snap it closed and it disconnects from your MacBook and stops consuming power.

The Mobi Fold has a few other tricks up its sleeve. For one thing, Logitech has addressed the problem of accidental button presses when folding using what it calls an “on-device AI model.” Like most things that include the word “AI” these days, that sounds like vague “magic stuff,” but the bottom line is that I don’t really care how it works as long as it works — and it’s worked flawlessly in the few weeks I’ve been using the Mobi Fold.

Seamlessly Cross-Platform — Mostly

As with nearly all Logitech keyboards and mice, you can also pair the Mobi Fold with up to three devices. Switching isn’t entirely seamless, as you’ll have to flip the mouse over and click the button on the bottom. You can also assign one of the Actions Ring controls to “Easy Switch,” which works great if you’re moving between computers with Logi Options+ installed, but that becomes a one-way trip if you want to use the Mobi Fold with an iPad; you’ll need to hit the physical button to get back to the Mac.

The Mobi Fold connects via Bluetooth or Logitech’s Logi Bolt USB-C receiver. You’ll have to pick up one of those separately if you don’t already have one, but Bluetooth really is the way to go for most Mac users, and Logitech knows this, which is why it often omits the receiver from the “Mac” versions of products like the MX Master 4.

Battery life and charging are also surprisingly good. Logitech claims one month of use on a full charge, which seems about right. I’ve been using the Mobi Fold on and off for nearly a month — possibly an average of an hour per day — and it’s still sitting at 65%. Still, if you find yourself in a pinch, a one-minute USB-C charge will provide 22 hours of use.

To be clear, the Mobi Fold still isn’t the ideal daily driver for most workspaces — I’d still wholeheartedly recommend the MX Master 4 for power users, or Logitech’s recently-released Signature Comfort Plus M850 for an outstanding and affordable ergonomic mouse. However, it’s a near-perfect solution for anyone who’s regularly on the go and wants to travel as light as possible.

The Logitech Mobi Fold is available starting today for $79.99 in three distinct colorways: graphite, off-white, and lilac. In the US, it’s being sold exclusively on Logitech.com and TikTok Shop until July 8, after which it should come to other retailers. In Canada, Mobi Fold is available on Logitech.com and other online retailers such as Amazon.
