Apple Watch Leather Link Band Review and Impressions | Is It Worth $99?

Sadly, the silicone band that came with my Apple Watch made my skin itchier and itchier, as if I were developing some sort of allergy to the material. So I recently purchased a Midnight Leather Link Apple Watch band for my 45mm Apple Watch Series 7.

First, it’s important to note that I’ve owned many Apple bands: the Solo Loop, the Braided Solo Loop, a few Sport bands, the Sport Loop, the Nike Sport Band and Sport Loop, the Milanese Loop, and finally, the Leather Link Band. I even had an Hermès band in my hand with no intention of buying it. However, I have to say that of all the above bands, with the exception of the Hermès band, the Leather Link Band is by far the best.

The Leather Link is made of handmade Roux Granada leather, which is produced in France, and it feels great. I’ve had fantastic leather products from reputable brands, but this one feels even better.

So I did a little research and found out that the Roux tanneries where the leather comes from were acquired by LVMH in 2012. This group owns brands like Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Givenchy, Loewe, and so on. They also own part of Hermés. After doing this research, I realized exactly why the leather of this band stands out.

The links inside the band are magnets, making adjusting the band remarkably easy and convenient. The biggest concern I had with this band was with the magnets, as I was a bit disappointed with the ones in my iPhone 13 Pro (they aren’t super strong). However, I was surprised by these. They’re strong. They give the impression that my Apple Watch won’t go missing, which is obviously very important.

In conclusion, this band is definitely worth the $99 price tag. In fact, I think this is the only official Apple band that isn’t overpriced for what it is. I would recommend it to anyone who owns an Apple Watch and doesn’t plan on exercising daily with it. This band isn’t waterproof, so if you swim a lot or use your Apple Watch in the rain, you should get a different band.
