The intense rivalry between Samsung and Apple has for long been well-documented. Between all the lawsuits and patent infringement drama, and the incessant quest to deliver some mighty awesome products to market, the two tech titans have repeatedly shown us that competition is both a blessing and a curse.

Just yesterday, for instance, Samsung took a pretty blunt few stabs at Apple during the South Korean tech-giant’s annual ‘Unpacked’ event — whereat the wraps were officially taken off the company’s stunning new Galaxy Note 7 phablet.

While showcasing the many new features and enhancements of the company’s latest and greatest plus-sized handset, Samsung’s recently anointed new Senior Vice President of marketing, Justin Denison, just couldn’t help himself — as he took just a few cunning shots at his company’s most formidable rival.

“Do you wanna know what else it comes with?” asked Denison in the midst of the keynote. “An audio jack… I’m just saying.”

Ouch! (I mean, not really, but I guess he does kind of have have a point, right?)

To be fair: no, we’re not 100% certain that Apple’s iPhone 7 will, in fact, launch without a 3.5mm headphone jack yet — as many reports have previously suggested would be the case. However, there’s been so many of them that have all but shown us, even beyond the shadow of a reasonable doubt, that this will more than likely be the case.

Taking the shots a step further, Denison then pivoted to Apple’s Pencil stylus for the iPad Pro — outright mocking the $99 accessory for its hefty price, and the fact that it has to be charged, while promoting his company’s S-pen, and how one is bundled with each Galaxy Note device free of charge.

Denison may seem a bit cocky in his blunt swipes at Apple, but, for what it’s worth, I think the South Korean tech-giant has every reason to be so snobby at this stage in the game. Yesterday, the wraps were taken off a dramatically redesigned Galaxy Note 7 — the 6th installment from the company’s popular Galaxy Note series.

The device is absolutely beautiful, for starters, and also features a plethora of upgrades and new features, galore, while advancing Samsung’s design philosophy to a whole new level.

It’s certainly no iPhone, to be sure; but regardless, I think it’s safe to say that Apple has every reason to be concerned at this point… Unless, of course, something very special is in store for us just around the bend? I suppose we’ll soon find out!

Why are your thoughts about Justin Denison’s remarks? Let us know in the comments!
