Great news for participants of Apple’s public beta software testing program. Apple on Wednesday officially began seeding the second beta release of its highly-anticipated macOS Sierra 10.12.4 software update to public testers, which includes, most notably, ‘Night Shift’ functionality for Mac that was previously introduced alongside iOS 9.3, among other key updates and enhancements.

Updates to macOS Sierra 10.12.4 Beta 2

  • Night Shift.
  • Shanghainese language support for Siri Dictation.
  • Updated PDFKit API, which will supposedly allow for a “better display” of PDF files in apps that utilize the platform, such as Preview or Adobe PDF.
  • Improved OLED Touch Bar functionality for users of the company’s 2016 MacBook Pro with OLED Touch Bar.
  • New option to opt-in/opt-out of iCloud analytics.
  • The ability to ask Siri about cricket scores, schedules, and player rosters, which she is now able to retrieve from both the Indian Premier League and International Cricket Council.

If you haven’t yet enrolled your Mac or iOS device in Apple’s public beta testing program, feel free to mosey on over to Apple’s website and sign up using your Apple ID. Otherwise, the public release of macOS 10.12.4 should be coming to the general public later on this spring.
