AirPods 3
Following months of rumors, Apple finally unveiled its third-generation AirPods. The latest earbuds from the Cupertino company borrow heavily from the AirPods Pro and the AirPods Max.
They feature Adaptive EQ that adjusts the equalizer to each individual and the music they listen to. Spatial Audio is another feature ported from the AirPods Pro that brings a surround-sound feel to the AirPods. Not only does it project sound from all directions, but it also adapts the direction of the sound to a person's movement.
Last but not least is a smart redesign with smaller stems for a more comfortable fit.
Apple Music Voice Plan
Apple added a new Voice Plan to its Apple Music service. The subscription allows users to access the service's music catalog using Siri. It is aimed at people who primarily use screenless devices like the HomePod mini to listen to music.
HomePod mini Update
Apple today updated the HomePod mini with a splash of new colors. These three new colors, Yellow, Orange, and Blue, join the existing black and white. These new HomePod color options will be available starting in November for $99.
M1 Pro and M1 Max Processors
Apple's M1 processor caused a stir with its outstanding performance that blew the competition away. One year later, and now the company is back with not one but two updated versions. The M1 Pro and the M1 Max deliver up to 70 percent faster CPU performance and significantly quicker GPU performance. The M1 Max is 4X faster than the existing M1 processor, while the M1 Pro delivers twice the performance. Even though they are faster, both processors manage battery life as efficiently as the previous generation M1.
16-inch MacBook Pro
Apple revamped its MacBook Pro lineup by adding a new 16-inch MacBook Pro with Apple's latest M1 processors. The new MacBook Pro is equipped with Apple's stunning Liquid Retina mini-LED display and a slew of ports, including an HDMI, SDX slot, Thunderbolt, and MagSafe.
Rounding out the extras is a 1080P camera and six-speaker sound system. Like it or not, Apple did away with the Touch Bar, replacing it with a row of function keys.
The new 16-inch MacBook Pro won't be cheap. Pricing starts at $2,499 for an M1 Pro with 16-core GPU, 16GB memory, and 512GB SSD storage. The top-of-the-line machine maxes out at a whopping $6,099 for a 16-inch MacBook Pro with the M1 Max processor 32-core GPU, 64GB memory, and 8TB SSD storage.
Apple is taking pre-orders for the new 16-inch MacBook Pros starting October 18 with an expected arrival date of October 26.
14-inch MacBook Pro
Apple added not one but two MacBook Pro models to its notebook lineup. The 14-inch MacBook Pro is very similar to the 16-inch model in almost every way. It sports a new mini-LED Liquid Retina Pro XDR display and a minimal 3.5mm bezel. Apple added a notch to its MacBook, a necessary addition that houses the laptop's 1080P FaceTime HD camera. On the sides are a headphone jack, several Thunderbolt ports, a MagSafe connection, an SD card slot, and an HDMI port.
Just like the 16-inch MacBook Pro, the 14-inch can be configured with either the new M1 Pro or the M1 Max processor, RAM up to 64GB, and storage from 512GB to a whopping 8TB. Also missing is the Touch Bar which has been replaced with a row of function keys.
The based 14-inch MacBook Pro starts at $1,999 with the M1 Pro processors, 16GB of memory, and a 512 GB SSD. A maxed-out version with the M1 Max processor, 64GB of memory, and an 8TB SSD retails for $5,899.
