Apple on Wednesday seeded the tenth iOS 11 beta to registered Apple developers. Additionally, Apple released the corresponding public beta version to its software testers.

Currently, no major outward-facing changes have been discovered in the new software. Like recent previous iOS 11 betas, it’s likely that beta 10 carries a number of bug fixes, under-the-hood improvements, and general reliability enhancements.

iOS 11 beta 10 comes just under one week after Apple seeded the previous version, beta 9. Notably, that version was released just three days after beta 8. Indeed, the pace of beta releases seems to be quickening as Apple works to get its software running smoothly ahead of its Tuesday, Sept. 12 announcement event — the company should roll out the final public release sometime after the keynote. As with previous iOS releases, developers can probably expect a golden master (GM) version sometime early next week.

iOS 11 is a major update to Apple’s mobile operating system and will introduce a number of notable changes like a new customizable Control Center, a Lock screen that’s been merged with the Notification Center, and updates to the UI, Siri and native apps. The software also adds a new peer-to-peer payment system for Apple Pay, a Do Not Disturb While Driving feature, and the ARKit augmented reality development toolset.

The next-generation software will also be one of the biggest upgrades to iOS for iPad, as it will introduce a new Mac-like Dock, a dedicated Files app for managing files, a rehabbed App Switcher, and vastly improved and system-wide multitasking capabilities.

How to Download iOS 11 Dev Beta 10 / Public Beta 9

iOS 11 beta 10 is currently available as an over-the-air update for registered Apple developers, provided that the proper configuration profile is installed. It’s also available via the Developer’s portal.

The corresponding public beta release is also available for registered Apple software testers. If you haven’t registered, you can do so here — although, this close to the final release, it might be smart to just wait for the public rollout.
