Apple is rumored to be preparing for an unveiling of at least three new devices sometime between now and the end of April. Apple is reportedly preparing to announce a new 15-inch MacBook Air, a new M2 Ultra-powered Mac Pro, and a yellow color option for the iPhone 14.

Apple has in the past announced new products at events, while also making new product announcements via press releases on its “Newsroom” website. The company has been known to announce new products in April, most recently in 2021, when it debuted a new model iMac, a new iPad Pro, new Apple TV, AirTag item trackers, and a new color option (purple) for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini.

New 15-in MacBook Air

In February, display industry analyst Ross Young announced that his sources told him that Apple’s suppliers had begun production of display panels for a new 15.5-inch MacBook Air model. Young has a fairly decent record when it comes to making predictions about Apple’s upcoming products.

Young expects the new MacBook Air to debut in “early April.” However, we could see an announcement, with pre-orders beginning sooner.

A 15.5-inch display would be the largest available display ever for a MacBook Air and Apple would likely continue offering the existing 13-inch Air. The current 13-inch MacBook Air with the M2 chip was just released in July 2022, so it still has some shelf life left. The M2 chip is said to provide up to an 18% faster CPU, up to 35% faster GPU, and as much as 40% faster Neural Engine compared to the original M1 chip.

Young did not say whether the new MacBook Air would be powered by an M2 chip or a next-generation M3 chip based on TSMC’s 3nm process.

A new MacBook Air with a 15-inch display would be the largest ever for a MacBook Air. The current MacBook Air has a 13.6-inch display. Previous MacBook Air models have also used an 11-inch display. The new MacBook Air is expected to use an LCD panel for the display, with the first model to use an OLED display panel expected for a 2024 debut.

New M2-Powered Mac Pro

In January, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman said that Apple was testing a new version of the venerable Mac Pro that runs macOS Ventura 13.3. Ventura will likely see a spring release, meaning the new Mac Pro could also debut during a spring media event or see a spring announcement in Apple’s Newsroom.

While it is possible that Apple could release both the Mac Pro and macOS 13.3 in March or April, there is no definitive timeframe for the computer’s debut later this year. This means the new Mac Pro could be announced at WWDC 2023 in June or perhaps later this year.

The new Mac Pro is expected to feature Apple’s new M2 Ultra chip, a much-rumored more powerful “M2 Extreme” chip that has reportedly been canceled. An M2 Ultra-powered Mac Pro would be the fastest Mac Pro ever produced, says Gurman.

Gurman expects the new Mac Pro to resemble the 2019 model, which he says it will lack user-upgradeable components, such as RAM.

New Yellow iPhone Color

Apple has in the past released a new iPhone color or two in March or April, and a recent rumor in a Weibo post shared by Mac Otakara indicates that the new color tradition could continue with the iPhone 14 this year.

Mac Otakara says Apple plans to debut the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus in a yellow color option sometime this spring. A Yellow color option was last available for the iPhone with the debut of a yellow iPhone 11 in 2019 and a yellow iPhone XR in 2018. we don’t currently know whether a new color option will also be available for the iPhone 14 Pro models.

Apple has also made other colors available for various iPhone models in past years. Previous new color options included an Alpine Green color for last year’s iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, as well as a Green color for the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini. Apple unveiled iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini models that were available in Purple back in April 2021.
