With the highly anticipated release of Apple’s iPhone 7 handset rapidly approaching, it would have been pretty reasonable to assume the device would have entered mass production sometime following the Silicon Valley tech-giant’s World-Wide Developer Conference this June — perhaps even within the first few days of July.

However, according to a new report that surfaced just this morning, believe it or not, production of the Cupertino-company’s next iPhone handset has already begun — at facilities owned and operated by Apple’s two largest contracted manufacturers, Pegatron and Foxconn. Moreover, according to an anonymous tipster who was cited in Monday’s report, there will, as was previously speculated, be a total of three, three iPhone 7 handsets being released this fall.

These devices include the standard, 4.7-inch iPhone 7, as well as both the 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus, and a top-of-the-line, 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Pro (or iPhone 7 Plus Premium, or something along the lines thereof).

We previously reported on this alleged trifecta of iPhone 7 handsets coming to market this fall back in March — particularly, that either one, or both, versions of the larger, 5.5-inch handset will feature a beefed up camera set up, boasting dual-lenses, presumably for carrying out optical image stabilization (OIS) and/or optical image zooming. Rumors of a beefed up camera on future iPhones would make sense — particularly in light of Apple’s 2015 acquisition of the Israeli advanced mobile imaging firm, Linx.

To that end, there has been a myriad of recent speculations and analysis indicating that Apple’s iPhone 7 will not feature a very impressive amount of selling points, or any major overhauls. For instance, back in February, 2016, a report from KGI Securities analyst, Ming Chi Kuo, shed some light on this alleged notion that Apple’s forthcoming, 9th generation handset will not “feature any major selling points.”

Likewise, recent speculation has surfaced indicating that, in 2017, Apple will skip the generic ‘iPhone 7s’ upgrade, and instead release a dramatically revamped, redesigned ‘iPhone 8’ for the company’s 10th anniversary celebration of the iPhone.

The current slate of rumors have alluded to the 2017 iPhone boasting an immersive, edge-to-edge screen — which would ditch the iconic home button, and instead embed Touch ID functionality under the screen, itself. The 2017 ‘iPhone 7s’, ‘iPhone 8’, or whatever they end up calling it — will also, according to some rumors, feature either a curved AMOLED or OLED display at a possible size bump of 5.8-inches.

Of course, until further notice, we highly recommend that you take all of this in with an extra large, heaping grain of salt — particularly considering that, at the inherent moment, there’s very little information about the iPhone 7 coming this fall, let alone, iPhones that are supposedly looming way beyond the imminent horizon.
