A set of leaked photos has surfaced, which allegedly features an iPhone 7 Plus in a Deep Blue color scheme.

The photos provide us with a view of the supposed Deep Blue variant from nearly every angle, revealing the lack of a 3.5mm audio jack, dual-camera module, and the presence of dual-grille speakers, all of which are prominent new innovations in the upcoming iPhone 7. As PhoneArena observes, the phone also appears to be running on the iOS 10 beta, judging by the wallpaper and icons.

While hardcore Apple observers can be fairly certain that Space Gray, Silver, Gold, and Rose Gold will be color options for the upcoming Apple flagship phone, it’s still uncertain whether Space Black and Deep Blue have met the chopping block, according to BGR. If Apple did go with those tints, it would represent an about-face of sorts for the company, which has an understated aesthetic sensibility and has largely stuck to muted and less dramatic hues for its phones.

So far, a consensus has yet to be established regarding the photo’s authenticity. There are certain anomalies that suggest that the leak may be fabricated. For instance PhoneArena points out certain aberrations in the design of the Apple logo on the back as well as flaws in the mute switch and volume buttons and doesn’t rule out the possibility that this is an iPhone 6 masquerading as an iPhone 7.

The iPhone 7 Plus is due to hit stores in September, which ought to put an end to this question.
