Leaked Video May Reveal New iPhone 6c

iPhone 6c rumors are heating up yet again. For over a year, rumors surrounding the device have sprouted up and disappeared several times. Purportedly “leaked” photos of the case, as well as “leaked” specs of the device have cropped up, as well as plenty of speculation surrounding the release date of the device.
As we stand now, the general consensus is that the new 4-inch iPhone will finally see the light of day at a March event, where we could also see the debut of the second-generation Apple Watch.
A video put out this morning by Chinese website MICGadget allegedly shows the first demo iPhone 6c unit, straight from the production line of China’s Foxconn factory. The short, 40-second clip certainly doesn’t reveal much about the phone, besides showing the device, which isn’t even powered on, from a couple of different angles.
The video itself may be a bit uninspiring, but for all of those Apple fans who have been yearning for the iPhone’s return to a smaller form factor, a brief glimpse of the phone is rather exciting.
In the video, the phone itself looks basically like a smaller version of the iPhone 6s – and many analysts agree that the phone will share similar specs (an A9 or possibly an A8 chip, and NFC for Apple Pay).
It should be noted that MICGadget has a bit of a hit-or-miss ratio when it comes to predictions and leaks. In July of last year, the site predicted that the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus wouldn’t be released with a 16GB version, opting instead for 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB models. In August, the site put out a photo allegedly showing a leaked prototype case for the 6c – the photo’s authenticity has yet to be determined.
Without more information, we can’t be sure whether or not the phone displayed in this morning’s video is authentic (9to5Mac‘s Benjamin Mayo speculates that the phone in the video may be a 6s, and the demonstrator may just have massive hands). However, as production of the unit increases closing in on the alleged release date, we can probably expect more leaks to appear.
