For those of you that have been keeping close tabs on Apple’s imminent product plans, you might have caught wind of the rumors that the company is expected to launch an ‘iPhone 6c’ sometime during the Mach quarter.

Much like it’s predecessor, the iPhone 5c, the 6c is expected to feature a smaller, 4-inch display, and it will be available in an assortment of color options. To that end, its external design is expected to adopt several aesthetic qualities from its larger-screened older brothers — the iPhone 6/6s and 6/6s Plus.

iDrop_iPhone6cRenders_01Several reports have claimed that the supposed iPhone 6c will also feature hues consistent with the 6th generation iPod Touch; just as others have speculated that it will be more along the lines of a miniature iPhone 6/6s. Additionally, the smaller handset is said to boast a spec-sheet that almost mimics that of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus — featuring Apple’s A8 Chipset, an 8 MP iSight camera in addition to a 1.3 MP 720p HD FaceTime camera, and 1 gigabyte of RAM.

Realigning our focus on the device’s design aesthetics, there’s little question, at this point, as to what the iPhone 6c will look like. Several concepts have been circulating about the web in recent months, after all, displaying vivid depictions of the device, that are largely based on Apple’s current iPhone lineup.

That being said, the most recent renders of the device appear to be some of the best that we’ve seen to date. These 3D images, created by Ferry Passchier, embody the device as a simple, scaled-down version of the iPhone 6/6s.

It’s expected, however, that the device will feature a more robust color palette — at least when compared to the larger handsets in Apple’s arsenal. Passchier has derived his anticipated color options from the current assortment of iPod Touch colors — silver, gold, deep pink, and deep blue — in addition to the traditional space gray, silver, gold, and rose gold employed in the iPhone 6s.

This is all rumor, keep in mind, however it’s almost certain that we won’t have to wait too long to find out the truth, as Apple is expected to release the device sometime in March 2016 — perhaps alongside the 2nd generation Apple Watch.

So what do you think about these color options? Which is your favorite?
And do you anticipate buying Apple’s scaled down iPhone?
