The Mac App Store Has Some Great Deals on Games Today

If you’re looking for some fun ways to kill time while waiting for this year’s big macOS Sequoia and iOS 18 releases, Apple is offering up some fantastic deals on the Mac App Store on popular games — including some AAA console titles.
The sale, which kicked off yesterday, is available for “a limited time,” and while that likely means it should last for a few days, it’s still a good idea to act quickly if you’re hoping to score a deal on a game you’ve had your eye on.
These are some pretty deep discounts, with most games on sale for half-off and some titles marked down as low as 75 percent below their regular price. That includes hits like Resident Evil Village for $16 and Death Stranding Director’s Cut for $20.
For the most part, these are Mac-only titles, although Death Stranding Director’s Cut is a notable exception as it’s a universal app. This means you can take advantage of the sale to purchase a single version of the game that will work on your Apple silicon Mac, M-series iPad, and iPhone 15 Pro.
Sadly, that’s not the case for Resident Evil Village, which is a separate app for the iPhone and iPad that’s distributed as a free download with an in-app purchase to unlock the full game.
While the sale appears to be available in multiple regions, Apple notes that not all titles are available everywhere, and some may require an Apple silicon Mac.
Here’s the full rundown of what’s on sale:
- Death Stranding Director’s Cut — $19.99 (reg. $39.99)
- Disco Elysium: The Final Cut — $9.99 (reg. $39.99)
- Disney Dreamlight Valley — $29.99 (reg. $39.99)
- GRIS — $2.99 (reg. $9.99)

- INSIDE by Playdead — $9.99 (reg. $19.99)

- LUNA The Shadow Dust — $9.99 (reg. $14.99)
- Resident Evil Village for Mac — $15.99 (reg. $39.99)
- Return to Monkey Island — $12.99 (reg. $24.99)

- Transport Fever 2 — $17.99 (reg. $35.99)
- Valheim — $9.99 (reg. $19.99)
In addition to the AAA console titles most of us are already familiar with, the list includes some of Apple’s award-winning selections, including INSIDE by Playdead, which received a 2018 Apple Design Award for the iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV version which came to the Mac in 2020.
There’s also this year’s Apple Design Award winner, Lies of P, which took the top gaming spot in the Visual and Graphics category, beating out such other impressive titles as Death Stranding Directors Cut and Honkai: Star Rail. While it’s still the most expensive game on the list, today’s sale offers a rare opportunity to check it out at a more reasonable price.
Remember that part in Pinocchio when the plucky puppet used a huge sword to clobber a giant robot? No? Lies of P reimagines the famous character as a crafty warrior exploring a beautiful but deadly city.Lies of P
