You’ll finally be able to buy Apple’s Beats-branded Powerbeats Pro wireless headphones in other colors starting this coming Thursday.
Powerbeats Pro were first announced back in April and originally went on sale in May. But, at the time, the only available color was the black version.
Apple will start taking preorders for Powerbeats Pro in Ivory, Moss and Navy at 12:01 a.m. Pacific Time (or 3:01 a.m. Eastern Time) on Aug. 22.
You’ll be able to preorder them from Apple’s online storefront or through the Apple Store app.
The new Powerbeats Pro colors will start shipping out to customers on Friday, Aug. 30 — the same day they’ll become available in brick-and-mortar retail stores.
Like the currently available Powerbeats Pro variant, the new color options will cost $249.95.
Powerbeats Pro
Powerbeats Pro are a completely wire-free version of the original Powerbeats earbuds. But they’re not just standard Bluetooth headphones. Instead, they combine many of the convenience features of Apple AirPods with the athletic fit and aesthetic of Beats.
The wireless headphones feature an H1 chip for quick connectivity to devices, quick switching between them and always-on Hey Siri support.
They also feature a much more secure fit than AirPods, meaning they’re better-suited to workouts, running and other athletic activities. While they don’t have an IPX rating, they also feature more sweat- and water-resistance than Apple’s AirPods.
PowerBeats Pro offer up to nine hours of listening time, but the larger clamshell case can bump that up to around 24 hours of combined playback. The case can quick-charge Powerbeats Pro with its Fast Fuel feature, providing 1.5 hours of charge in just five minutes.
Most reviewers agree that Powerbeats Pro also sound better than AirPods. Thanks to their rubber ear-tips, they also feature much better noise isolation and deeper bass.
