One of the biggest upsets from the release of the iPhone 7 was the absence of the 3.5mm headphone jack. Even though rumors hinted that this would be the new format, the news broke the spirits of many and pushed iPhone fans into an outrage. After all, how could they now charge their phone AND listen to music if the new iPhone requires an adapter for 3.5mm headphones?

Thankfully, a new case has come to the rescue for those users who still want access to a headphone jack on their new iPhone 7. Fuze has released a new iPhone 7 case that revives the headphone jack in a compact case while also providing additional battery life (2,400 mAh for the iPhone 7 and 3,600 mAh for the iPhone 7 Plus). The case itself adds only an additional 5mm to the iPhone 7’s thickness and weighs only 2.9 ounces, adding little bulk to the mobile device.

According to their Indiegogo campaign page, “Fuze restores 3.5mm audio jack for iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. It delivers a doubled battery life as well as scratch and shock protection, all while maintaining the iPhone’s compact profile. We need your help to bring back the jack. When you purchase Fuze, you purchase the freedom of choice.”

You can check out their full Indiegogo campaign here. The company has already raised over $65,000 (130% of their goal), and expects to start shipping their product to customers in late December of this year.

The removal of the headphone jack from the latest iPhone model has definitely upset the masses. However, it could be setting a new standard for what is expected from top-of-the-line mobile devices.
