Following an issue which has since been confirmed to be the result of an internal error, some early buyers were updated on Thursday morning that their iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and Apple Watch Series 4 orders have officially been shipped out. The first batch of deliveries expected to arrive on doorsteps Friday, September 21.

As of late Wednesday evening, some customers reported having noticed their iPhone XS or XS Max order being updated to a “Shipment on Hold” status, which means in Apple-speak that “there is an issue with your delivery,” according to MacRumors, who was first to be informed of the error.

Apple has since corrected both the error and customer’s order statuses, and those who previously saw a “Shipment on Hold” indication will now notice a “Shipped” status, indicating that “Your item is on the way,” with the earliest orders scheduled to arrive tomorrow the 21st by end-of-day.

In the interim, eager customers wanting to check-up on their order status can always click “Track shipment” link — either in their order confirmation email or by logging in at apple.com — to determine the exact whereabouts of their new gear.

How Can I Pick Up an iPhone XS, XS Max or Apple Watch Series 4 Tomorrow?

If you missed Apple’s iPhone XS, XS Max and Watch Series 4 pre-order last Friday, fret not, you may be in luck still since most Apple Stores, along with select carrier and retail partners, are expected to have limited-quantities of each product on-hand and available to purchase, first-come, first-serve.

A friendly tip for those planning to wait in line: the most important thing to remember is arrive early, since lines develop quickly and quantities are going to be limited.

On Friday morning, exclusively, most Apple retail locations are also expected to open at 8:00 am — up to two hours ahead of schedule — to accommodate those on deck.

Be sure to check your local Apple Store for additional details about their specific launch day procedures.
