After months of teasing U.S. customers with the forthcoming arrival of its ultra high-performance Civic Type R, Honda this morning announced via an official press release that the highly-anticipated vehicle will finally go on sale tomorrow morning, June 15th. In addition to premium sports-car specifications, the Civic Type R will be among the first 2017 models to feature Apple’s CarPlay functionality as a stock option, which will be coupled with a sound and in-cabin infotainment system that’s certain to get your adrenaline pumping.

“The all-new 2017 Honda Civic Type R – the ultimate performance variant of America’s best-selling car, and the first-ever Type R-badged Honda sold in the U.S. – goes on sale starting tomorrow,” the Japanese auto-maker said in its official press release. “The most powerful production Honda ever sold in America, the track-ready 2017 Civic Type R embodies Honda’s racing spirit, making 306 horsepower (SAE net) at 6,500 rpm and 295 lb.-ft. of torque (SAE net) from 2,500-4500 rpm from its 2.0-liter DOHC direct-injected and turbocharged i-VTEC® engine.”

In addition to its racetrack-worthy performance, featuring an impressive 100 HP bump over the similarly-styled Civic SI, Honda’s Civic Type R will also boast support for both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which will be controllable via the front, dash-mounted, 7-inch “Display Audio touchscreen,” which itself will boast integrated HVAC controls, support for Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation with Voice Recognition, and Honda HD Digital Traffic.

As if that wasn’t enough, the Touring trim of the Civic Type R that Honda will make available tomorrow also boasts a remarkably powerful 540-watt, 12-speaker sound system. The car will also feature an additional, 7-inch Driver Information Interface mounted in the dash behind the steering wheel, which will be able to display customizable performance statistics including throttle and brake application, turbocharger boost pressure, lap time, shift lights, and more.

While the photo below shows the interior of Honda’s EU variant of the Civic Type R, complete with those gorgeous red interior appliqués and seating surfaces, the automaker claims that the design could vary slightly in the version destined for the U.S. market. On the plus side, Honda confirmed that the red theme pictured below will be available as an option to customers in the U.S.

So how much will this ultra-premium, high-performance firecracker cost you? Honda says that a Civic Type R, fully equipped with the Touring trim, will run about $33,900 (MSRP) in the U.S. before any dealer incentives or promotional offers are applied.
