Apple revealed their annual back to school promotion this morning, offering a free pair of Beats headphones with the purchase of an eligible Mac at an Apple retail store or a participating Apple Authorized Campus Store. The promotional deal is available for school faculty, staff, students, parents of students, school board members, and PTA or PTO executives. Eligible customers who purchase an iMac, MacBook, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and Mac Pro will receive an instant credit of $199.95 to cover the full purchase price of one pair of Beats Solo2 On-Ear headphones in Gloss Black, Gloss White, Gloss Red, Gloss Blue, Gloss Gray, or Gloss pink. Those who wish to upgrade to a pair of Beats Solo2 Wireless On-Ear Headphones can do so for an extra $100.
This year’s Back to School promotion is a bit different than in years past – Apple used to offer $100 gift cards with the purchase of a qualifying Mac, and $50 gift cards with the purchase of a qualifying iPhone or iPad. Although iPhones and iPads (along with Mac Minis and refurbished Macs) are exempt from the deal this year, the free headphones may be a better deal for some. Beats headphones are far and away the most popular headphones among middle school to college age students, and a free pair of the relatively expensive headphones will likely entice many students to seek out this deal.
This year’s Back to School promotion is available at Apple retail stores and participating Apple Authorized Campus Stores from this morning, July 23rd, through September 18th. The deal will also be available online at the US Apple Online Store (or 1-800-MY-APPLE) from August 6th through September 18th. Students, faculty, and parents – take advantage while you still can!
