Apple’s 2025 MLS Season Pass Has New Perks for Fans

Apple has officially announced that it’s MLS Season Pass for 2025. With this year marking the 30th anniversary of Major League Soccer and the third year of MLS Season Pass, Apple has a few other surprises for fans.
First off, while the regular season play won’t kick off until February 22, there’s enough preseason action to encourage subscribers to sign up now. MLS Season Pass will be broadcasting “select preseason matches” over the next three weeks, including LAFC versus reigning Liga MX Apertura 2024 champion Club América and Inter Miami’s final preseason friendly against Orlando City SC. These will also be available for all Apple TV+ subscribers, presumably to whet their appetites for the full package.
Apple is also introducing Sunday Night Soccer this year, broadcasting a featured game of the week every Sunday evening. These games will feature enhanced production and be accompanied by dedicated studio programming to spotlight and discuss the league’s most exciting matches.
This is another series that will be offered free to Apple TV+ subscribers, allowing less hardcore soccer fans to get in on the action without shelling out for the full MLS Season Pass — a strategy that seems similar to Apple’s Friday Night Baseball deal with MLB.
The 2025 season begins Saturday, February 22, and kicks off the third year of an unprecedented 10-year partnership between Apple and Major League Soccer. The upcoming season also marks the arrival of the 30th MLS team, San Diego FC.
Sunday Night Soccer will debut the very first weekend of the MLS season and highlight the league’s new San Diego FC franchise as it takes on reigning MLS Cup Champions LA Galaxy. Apple also isn’t messing around here; it plans to promote this match — and MLS Season Pass — with a live broadcast in Times Square.
The Sunday series will feature broadcasters Jake Zivin, Taylor Twellman, and Andrew Wiebe in English and Sammy Sadovnik and Diego Valeri in Spanish. Apple is also moving its MLS Wrap Up and MLS El Resumen to Sunday evenings.
MLS Season Pass delivers fans exactly what they want, connecting them with the game they love across all of their devices, with no blackouts. Heading into our third year with MLS, we’re excited to continue elevating the fan experience and can’t wait for the season to begin.

T-Mobile is also making a return to MLS Season Pass this year, offering its customers complimentary access to the full MLS Season Pass action through T-Mobile Tuesdays. T-Mobile had a similar promotional offer when Apple launched MLS Season Pass in 2023. When it was conspicuously missing last year, we’d assumed it was simply a first-year thing, but it’s good to see it return.
Apple is also partnering with Comcast this year to tie the service directly into the Xfinity user interface alongside other live programming. MLS Season Pass will appear in the channel guide, and Comcast customers can sign up for MLS Season Pass directly through their account. However, all Xfinity customers will have full-season access to Apple’s MLS 360 whip-around studio show that provides live look-ins and highlights from every match, plus a free preview of MLS Season Pass from February 22 until March 2.
Apple is doing something similar for DIRECTV residential customers, who can subscribe through DIRECTV, enjoy a free preview until March 1, and find the matches on channels 480 through 495.
As usual, Apple is also tying in special content on its other services to celebrate the start of the 2025 season. Apple Music will have exclusive club- and player-curated playlists; Apple Maps users can explore dedicated Matchday Guides; Apple News users can follow MLS and their favorite teams in the Sports tab; Apple Podcasts will offer a curated set of episodes on its MLS Hub, and select Apple Store locations in North America will stream live MLS matches during the opening weekend.
The 2025 MLS Season Pass is priced the same as last year, at $14.99 monthly or $99 for the full season. As usual, Apple TV+ subscribers get a discount to $12.99 monthly or $79 for the season. As it’s done in past years, Apple will likely discount the full season pass at the halfway point for those who prefer to only follow the action leading up to the playoffs, and it may even provide deeper discounts later on. Last year, Apple gave away the remaining three months of MLS Season Pass 2024 to Apple TV+ subscribers.
