Apple is now offering certified refurbished HomePod models on its online store, which may be a great opportunity for potential HomePod buyers to save some money.

Refurbished HomePods in both white and space gray are now available for purchase directly from Apple, marking the first time that the company has made the smart speaker available at a discount. They’re retailing for $299, which is a $50 discount off the regular $349 starting price.

It’s worth noting that the refurbished HomePod models aren’t listed on Apple’s certified refurbished device portal — so you’ll have to use the direct link to get to the refurbished HomePod listing here.

Like-New

Apple’s certified refurbished products are basically like-new. The company thoroughly inspects, repairs and cleans up every refurbished device it offers. It even packages each device with all of its original manuals and accessories, and includes a standard one-year warranty.

In other words, you’d be hard pressed to tell the difference between an Apple refurbished HomePod and a new one. On the other hand, refurbished stock isn’t always consistent. Supplies are typically limited and it isn’t unusual for certain color options or configurations to sell out quickly.

Apple’s HomePod, which was launched in February, is the firm’s first foray into the smart speaker sphere. While its price point is high, HomePod does offer superb sound quality and a range of other Apple-specific features that make it a good choice for both audiophiles and Apple ecosystem devotees alike.

Get It Before Christmas

If you’re looking to get a HomePod before Christmas, current shipping estimates indicate delivery dates between Dec. 3 and Dec. 14. Just something to keep in mind.

While Apple refurbished products are a great option for anyone looking to get a discount on the company’s devices, you may be able to find a HomePod for cheaper — particularly if you’re reading this before Black Friday 2018.

For example, Best Buy will be offering new HomePod devices for $249.99 (a full $100 off the typical retail price) around Black Friday. The deal kicks off on Nov. 22, but supplies probably won’t last long.
