It seems that each year Amazon runs its Prime “Day” a little bit longer, and with a total of 48 hours worth of great sales, it’s probably more fair to call this year’s event Prime Days. Yesterday saw some great deals on Apple Watches and iPads, and today you can get Apple’s 13-inch MacBook Air for $699.
While this one technically runs until the end of Amazon’s Prime Day event, there are a limited number of units available, with
83% claimed as of this writing, so you’ll want to act fast.
[Update: This deal is now 100% claimed, although Amazon says a waitlist is available. See more buying options for this MacBook Air model here. See charging accessory deals below.]
To be clear, this is not Apple’s newest Retina MacBook Air, but rather the pre-2018 model that Apple just recently discontinued. Still, for $699 it’s a pretty great deal if you don’t need all of the horsepower of the latest MacBooks, containing a 1.8 GHz dual-core 5th-gen Intel Core i5 CPU that can turbo boost up to 2.9 GHz and a 128GB SSD and 8 GB of RAM. As an added bonus, it’s still sporting the old-school USB 3 ports, which may still have some appeal for those who aren’t yet all-in on USB-C accessories and dongles.
This appears to be the only MacBook deal so far, but the day is still young and there may be more “Lightning” deals like this yet to come.
Although there aren’t many deals on Apple hardware today, there are quite a few Apple accessories that can be had for great prices, including Mophie’s newest Juice Pack Air cases, which have actually launched specifically for Prime Day as part of a special promotion.
Available for the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, these latest Mophie cases provide an extra day’s worth of talk time, plus Qi-enabled wireless charging to juice them back up, so you’ll never have to take them off your iPhone. There are also some pretty good deals on the rest of Mophie’s charging products lineup as well, including a great Lightning Deal at 41% off Mophie’s powerstation XXL 20,000 mAh external battery for only $58.79.
There are a wide collection of other Apple accessories on sale as well, but most of them are from lesser-known brands so we’d recommend exercising caution, particularly with things like chargers.
As with everything else on Prime Day, of course, quantities may be limited, some of these deals may go quick, and other deals may pop up throughout the day, so be sure to check back for any more great deals that we may discover later on today.
