We believe the best calendar apps available on mobile are Google Calendar and Apple’s Calendar. On their own, each calendar app has many features to organize your events and your everyday life. Both Apple and Google calendar apps let you create and manage different calendars at once with a few taps on your device. Plus, they both remind you of your events basically on virtually every device you own.

The best part about these two calendars: You don’t need to choose one over the other. You can keep using the Google Calendar app and all the changes that you make will be carried over to your Apple Calendar.

You can also use your Apple Calendar and transfer all your events and important dates to Google. There’s a catch with this one, though. Apple is not as flexible as Google when it comes to updating your events on another app. But we’ll talk more about this in a moment.

If you want to have your Google and Apple calendars connected, here’s what you need to do.

How to Move Your Google Calendar into Apple Calendar on Your iPhone or iPad

Import Google Calendar
  1. Go to the Settings app.
  2. Scroll down and select Calendar.
  3. Tap on Accounts.
  4. Tap on Add Account.
  5. Select Google and select your Gmail account.
  6. Afterward, a list of options will appear on your screen. Make sure the Calendar option is toggled on.
  7. You’re almost done. Now go to the Google Calendar Sync page and select all the calendars you want to sync to your iPhone or iPad. Make sure it’s the same email address you added to your settings.
  8. Then click save.

It might take a moment or two, but you should see your Google calendar added to your Calendar app. To check this, just open up the Calendar App, and select Calendars at the bottom of your screen. You should see the email you just added in the settings.

Why You Shouldn’t Transfer Your Apple Calendar

Most of us are probably more used to using our Apple Calendar than Google’s. Still, when it comes to this trick it’s better to transfer your Google Calendar to your Apple calendar, and not the other way around.

The reason is simple. With Google, any calendar you transfer to Apple will be editable. You can create new events and dates from your Apple calendar and they’ll be automatically added in your Google calendar, making it simple to see your calendar in every other platform available.

Apple, on the other hand, doesn’t give you this option. You can’t change your current events or add new ones from your Google calendar. Plus, if you add another event on your Apple Calendar, it won’t be updated on Google, which can cause you problems, like missing an important meeting or date.

It’s just something you should keep in mind when doing this, especially if you’re someone who’s constantly jumping from one calendar to the other.
