There’s a new iPhone keyboard case on the way for the iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Made by the brand Clicks, the case debuted at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

The case is made of soft silicone and designed for easy-on, easy-off use and attaches via the Lightning or USB-C port. Easily adding or removing the case is an important feature since it makes the iPhone considerably longer and unlikely to fit comfortably in most pockets. It’s unlikely that Clicks will be a permanent case for most users. We’re not yet sure of how balanced it feels in hand.

The benefit of Clicks is that it gives you up to 50% more screen space by removing the on-screen keyboard. Plus, Clicks could be a great fit for those who long for the tactile response of physical buttons.

Clicks promises finely tuned feedback and a familiar layout for accurate typing. To use the case and physical keyboard most effectively, you’ll likely need to familiarize yourself with various shortcuts, like selecting text and copying and pasting. Time will tell what the user learning curve will be, and if the keyboard avoids common mistyping and mistakes made on the iPhone’s digital keyboard.

It’s hard to imagine toting a case this large around all day. We can see the case’s utility while sitting at your desk, on the couch, or on an airplane. The keyboard is backlit if necessary, allowing for productivity after hours and in the dark. It also supports wireless charging.

Will Clicks be a functional replacement for a laptop on the go and solve the drawbacks of the touchscreen keyboard? It undoubtedly will take some getting used to….but maybe!

Cases are available for pre-order and begin shipping between February and sometime this spring. They’re available in either “BumbleBee” yellow or “London Sky” grey. 50% more screen space is a lot. Time will tell how users respond.
