Apple Users May Like Pornhub, but They Love the iPhone Duo

Pornhub is arguably the most popular adult website in the world — the site received 3.84 billion visits in June 2026 alone — but apparently there are some things in this world that are more popular than watching people do the horizontal mamba.
As reported by Mactrast, this year’s iPhone-centric “Surprise and Shine” event caused a record number of Apple-loving Pornhub fans to close their browser tabs that were open to the adult site to watch the debut of Apple’s new iPhone Duo — the first-ever foldable iPhone. While Pornhub typically sees a drop in traffic during Apple’s annual September iPhone launch events, this year saw the biggest decline in page views during an Apple Event in the past five years.
The event took place September 9, 2026, and it began at 1 p.m. Eastern Time. Apple fans started getting ready for a bit of device porn before the event kicked off, as two minutes before the event started, Pornhub page views on Apple devices had fallen 19.1% compared to an average day. The impressive drop in traffic from Apple device users was undoubtedly due to the high levels of anticipation that had grown in previous months due to the almost universal expectation that Apple would unveil its first foldable iPhone during the event.
There were plenty of Apple fans that were closing the tabs of their favorite pornstar’s latest antics in favor of other new Apple products, although not to nearly the level of those interested in Apple’s initial foray into foldable phones. The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max debuts initially saw Pornhub’s traffic from Apple devices fall 16.9%. However, by the end of the iPhone 18 Pro portion of the program, the adult site’s Apple device traffic loss was down to 11.7%.
The announcement of Apple’s new AirPods 5 wireless earbuds and the new Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 barely caused a nudge downward in Pornhub traffic, with defector percentages close to the same level as rounding errors. However, when the iPhone Duo was unveiled, Pornhub saw a 21.8% drop in viewing numbers. By the end of the iPhone Duo presentation, which was also the end of the event, defectors only amounted to 6.6%.
While Porn-loving Apple fans definitely deserted their favorite pornstars in favor of the iPhone Duo, Android users apparently couldn’t care less about all things Apple. Just as was the case during the 2025 iPhone event, this year, Pornhub says Android traffic remained close to average throughout the event. However, it should be noted that the highest level of Android defectors during the Apple event was during the iPhone Duo portion of the event, with 5% of defectors using an Android device.
Last Wednesday’s iPhone event is not the only big event that takes eyes away from Pornhub, as during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Spaniards and Argentines closed their Pornhub tabs in favor of watching Spain’s victory over Argentina. At kickoff, Pornhub traffic was down impressively, as 63% in Spain and 77% in Argentina opted for football, compared to an average Sunday on the adult site. Two hours into the game, traffic was down 77% in Spain and 74% in Argentina.
