Earlier last week, we were given our first look at what might be Apple’s all-new ‘Copper Gold’ iPhone 8, which boasts a sleek, matte, copper color with a wrap-around casing and dual-lens camera appliqué in a complementary, vibrant yellow-gold. While it certainly is a beautiful new hue for a high-end Apple device, according to rumors that began circulating the web over the weekend, this copper-toned variant of the iPhone 8 might actually be called ‘Blush Gold’ when it comes to market later on this fall.

The rumor has already been backed up by multiple accounts, most notably within the confines of Apple’s Far East iPhone assembly partner, Foxconn, whereat the copper-tinged device has supposedly been dubbed “blush gold” internally.

Likewise, over the weekend it was discovered by Tech Grapple, via a post published to the Chinese social networking site, Weibo, that the copper-colored iPhone 8 is indeed being referred to internally as ‘Blush Gold’. Last, but certainly not least, these blush gold sentiments were corroborated by our friend and reliable iPhone aficionado, Benjamin Geskin, when he shared the news in a Tweet published on Saturday.

Interestingly, it appears that Geskin also sought to clarify that the iPhone 8 (whether ‘Blush Gold’, mirrored-glass, Jet Black, Jet White or otherwise) will be offered in both 64 GB and 128 GB storage capacities. While this scenario is a near certainty, and has even been corroborated by multiple reports from reliable sources, we’d find it hard to believe that Apple would simply “go without” a top-of-the-line 256 GB iPhone 8 variant — especially considering that the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are both offered in the high capacity.

In the interim, while we would certainly recommend taking this “Blush Gold” iPhone 8 rumor with a grain of salt, leaks of a dummy iPhone 8 unit, adorned in the matte, brownish-copperish color, have been circulating for days now. And from what we can see so far, it looks absolutely stunning; and so we’re definitely hoping that this comes to pass. Apple will likely unveil the iPhone 8 flagship alongside the iPhone 7s and 7s Plus at a special media event sometime next month, however the iPhone 8 may be unavailable, or available in very limited quantities, until well into October or November of this year as Apple has reportedly been experiencing manufacturing issues.
