A new set of images spotted on Weibo and shared by Twitter user DuanRui shows prototype iPhone 13 and 13 Pro cases on an iPhone 12 and 12 Pro.

The major takeaway from these images – iPhone 13 models may rock new camera lenses and arrangements that’ll dwarf the camera components on their predecessors.

We’ve seen a steady stream of dummy iPhone 13 models and leaked schematics over the past few months. Almost all of these rumors point to a larger camera module in the iPhone 13 and the iPhone 13 Pro.

Earlier leaks showed a more prominent camera bump on the iPhone 13 models, while the current leak shows a massive increase in the size of the camera modules. It also hints at a different arrangement of the camera lenses on the back of the iPhone.

Each year, Apple tweaks the camera system in its iPhone models, and 2021 is no different. We assume that the change in the iPhone 13’s lens size reflects certain improvements that Apple may make to the camera system.

We expect to see an improved Ultra-Wide camera lens on the iPhone and sensor-shift optical image stabilization. This form of image stabilization debuted on the iPhone 12 Pro Max and may make its way across all iPhone 13 models this year.

Before you get too excited, you should take these leaked case dummies with a grain of salt.

Accessory makers often create prototype cases using the same leaked information we see floating on the internet.

They do not have an inside track to Apple, and Apple does not provide them iPhone 13 details.

In fact, another Weibo account recently posted leaked photos that show only a slight increase in camera module size. Which one is correct? Only time will tell.
