The list below provides a snapshot of the most exciting new accessories for the forthcoming Apple TV, including some Apple Certified game controllers, wireless keyboards, cables and more.

Apple Certified Gaming Controllers

Apple TV features an all-new tvOS App Store, boasting a selection of game titles that require more input options than are provided for by the Siri-enabled remote’s directional pad. While there’s support for one remote, if you’re hoping to play any multiplayer games, you’ll need to connect an additional controller via Bluetooth. Apple is currently standing behind the SteelSeries Nimbus, however, systemic based cross-platform compatibility is expected at some point down the road.

HDMI Cables

Still not included with the new Apple TV, despite its compatibility, is a standard HDMI Cable. Seems rather strange, especially given the device’s dual audio-video connection requirements, but, either which way, you can expect to pay between $5 and $20 (depending on your length requirements) at any electronics retailer, eBay, or Amazon.

Lightning Cables and Siri-remote Charging Dock

In the package, Apple includes a single Lightning Cable for recharging the Siri-enabled remote, however it’s not very long, so you might be inclined to purchase an additional cable that measures a greater length than Apple’s standard 6-foot option. Lightning Cables are available from eBay, Amazon, and even Walmart in 6, 8, 10, and 15-foot lengths.

Additionally, another way to charge your new Apple remote is via the HiRise Dock from Twelve South. It keeps the remote safe in an angular, vertical position, and requires only a Lightning Cable which connects at the rear.

With such a broad selection of accessories to ensure you get the most out of your new Apple TV — and with several others on their way — it seems like now might be the best time to stock up and customize your Apple TV experience.
