The new iPhones are officially here. They are beautiful, powerful and expensive (at least most of them are) and will be some of the best smartphones of 2019. If you’re like me, you’re already thinking about buying one. But which one?

It’s clear that we’d love to own the best iPhone available, which in this case is the iPhone 11 Pro Max. But if you’re only going to use it to check Instagram, then maybe it’s not worth paying $1,099 to get it. Instead, let’s see which is the best iPhone 11 for you.

iPhone 11 Pro/iPhone 11 Pro Max

  1. Capacity: 64GB/256GB/512GB
  2. Colors: Gold, Space Gray, Silver, Midnight Green
  3. Price: iPhone 11 Pro starts at $999/iPhone 11 Pro Max starts at $1,099

Apple released its first “Pro” iPhones, the iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 Pro Max. Both share similar specs with the difference in battery life and screen size.

They both have the A13 Bionic Chip, making them the most powerful smartphones to date. They have the new Super Retina XDR displays, with the only difference in size, 5.8-inch OLED display for the iPhone 11 Pro and a 6.5-inch OLED display for the iPhone 11 Pro Max.

iPhone 11 Pro Battery

Regarding the battery life, the iPhone 11 Pro lasts up to 4 hours longer than the iPhone XS and the iPhone 11 Pro Max lasts up to 5 hours longer than the iPhone XS Max, so you can expect a great battery life from both. Plus, they both come with an 18W adapter that charges up to 50% of the battery in just 30 minutes.

iPhone 11 Pro Camera

Last but not least, the cameras. Both iPhones have three cameras: A 12MP wide camera with f/1.8 aperture, a 12MP ultra-wide camera with an f/2.4 aperture, and a telephoto camera with f/2 aperture. This means you’ll literally see the bigger picture in every photo you take. And it will look great. You can also record 4K video at 24fps, 30fps and 60fps. Apple has also made huge improvements to the Night mode and Portrait mode. This is what your pictures will look like in Night mode.

On the front, both iPhones have a 12MP front-facing camera with Face ID. This new camera has the slo-mo selfies, or slofie, feature, available. Here’s where you can go to learn more about the slofies.

iPhone 11

  1. Capacity: 64GB/128GB/256GB
  2. Colors: Black, Yellow, Green, Purple, Red, and White
  3. Price: Starts at $699

The iPhone 11 is the cheapest option for this year’s line-up. That doesn’t mean it’s bad, but it does lose a couple of things its bigger brothers have, like the bigger battery and the third camera lens.

Just like the iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max, the iPhone 11 has the A13 Bionic chip. But instead of the Super Renita XDR display, the iPhone 11 has a 6.1-inch Liquid Retina HD display.

iPhone 11 Battery

When it comes to the iPhone 11’s battery life, Apple assures that the iPhone 11 will last up to 1 hour longer than the previous iPhone XR. This means up to 17 hours of video playback. It also supports fast-charging but it doesn’t come with the 18W adapter that the iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max come with.

iPhone 11 Camera

The iPhone 11 only has 2 camera lenses, the first is a 12MP wide camera with f/1.8 aperture, and the second one is a 12MP ultra-wide camera with f/2.4 aperture. As you can see, other than the telephoto camera (allowing optical zoom), the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max share the same camera specs.

You can shoot 4K video at 24 fps, 30 fps or 60 fps as well. And you also have the improved Portrait mode and Night mode.

The front-facing camera is also 12MP and supports Face ID. And yes, it also has the slofies feature available.

Which iPhone 11 Is the Best for You?

In my opinion, the best option for most people is the regular iPhone 11. You get most of the features of the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max at almost half the price. Sure you won’t get things like a third camera lens or a better display and battery, but you’ll still have a great iPhone for its price. Although if you currently own an iPhone XS or XS Max, you might want to hold on to it, as the iPhone 11 won’t feel like much an upgrade with its larger bezels, lower-quality display and lack of optical zoom.

Unlike the Pro versions or even previous iPhone versions, the iPhone 11 offers solid reasons for you to upgrade your old smartphone. You get great performance, a variety of colors, great cameras, fast charging and a solid display at a starting price that’s even cheaper than the iPhone XR when it first launched.

Now, if you absolutely need a better display and battery, three awesome cameras, and of course, you can afford it, you can’t go wrong with the iPhone 11 Pro or even the iPhone 11 Pro Max. Keep in mind though, these smartphones are meant for professionals who need to have a powerful camera that fits in their pockets.

Are you getting an iPhone 11? If so, which one? Let us know in the comments.
