Apple’s Vision Pro is a fascinating device, but not everyone is willing or able to spend $3,500 on a spatial computing headset, leaving many of us as merely curious window shoppers.

As with the iPhone and iPad, one of the most exciting aspects of Apple’s Vision Pro isn’t what it can do out of the box but rather the apps that are available to extend its capabilities in entirely new directions. Like those other devices, these apps are hosted in an App Store, offering a plethora of tools and experiences that can transform your Vision Pro experience.

However, until recently, the only way to get a good look at the Vision Pro App Store has been to actually strap on Apple’s headset. Links to specific visionOS apps would open in a preview page, but there was no way to browse the Vision Pro App Store as a whole.

Clearly, this made it difficult for folks who might be thinking about purchasing Apple’s headset to get a good idea of the broader capabilities available through its app library. The good news is that’s just changed with a new web-based version of the Vision Pro App Store.

The dedicated App Store for Apple Vision Pro page provides an experience similar to the Mac App Store or iPad App Store. In addition to letting you browse through the catalog of visionOS apps, you can also see Apple’s curated lists and editorial highlights, screenshots of the apps, filter by category, and more.

The layout and categories are the same as what you’ll see when accessing the App Store on an actual Vision Pro headset, including highlights for What’s New, Hot This Week, and Don’t Miss. Apple has also organized apps by type, so you can browse specifically for entertainment, sports, or weather apps if you prefer.

Apple has also broken the Vision Pro App Store page into distinct sections for Apps & Games, which includes all free and purchasable titles, and Apple Arcade for those visionOS games that can be enjoyed with a subscription to Apple’s gaming service.

The Vision Pro App Store isn’t limited to those apps specifically designed for Apple’s spatial computing headset. Since the Vision Pro can also run iPad apps, you’ll find numerous titles here that are simply floating-window experiences translated from Apple’s tablet. That won’t be every iPad app — developers have to allow their apps to run on the Vision Pro, and there have been some notable holdouts — but nearly every Apple Arcade game title qualifies.

Still, Apple has broken these into distinct sections on the Vision Pro App Store, and it’s naturally highlighting the “Made for Vision Pro” titles much more prominently. The iPhone and iPad apps are there, but you’ll need to scroll down to find them.

The Vision Pro also supports “universal” apps in the same manner as the iPhone, iPad, and Mac, so you’ll find more than a few visionOS apps that can also run on your iPhone and iPad. These aren’t simply iPad apps that run on the Vision Pro but rather those with native Vision Pro experiences, as you can tell by the collection of screenshots for each platform.

When Apple launched the Vision Pro on February 2, it boasted over 600 native apps for the new headset. It’s unclear how much that number has expanded since then, as the App Store pages don’t provide a count, but it certainly feels like a much larger library today than it did a month ago.
