Last summer Eric Trump and Don Jr. took to the stage to announce the Trump Organization’s latest venture, Trump Mobile. The anchor products for Trump Mobile at the time were The 47 Plan offering 5G service to any smartphone starting at $47.95/month and the T1 Phone which was originally scheduled for release in August 2025. The T1’s total price is advertised at $499 and TrumpMobile.com has been accepting $100 deposits since.

Since the announcement, many have been skeptical the T1 Phone would ever see the light of day. Initially, the T1 was branded as “Made In The USA” with published specs that experts doubted Trump Mobile could achieve with domestic manufacturing alone. Originally published pictures of the T1 conspicuously resembled an iPhone. One image appeared to be a Samsung S25 Ultra in a Spigen case — with a Spigen logo and all. Shortly after launch, “Made In The USA” claims were changed to “Designed with American values in mind” and “…brought to life right here in the USA.”

The naysayers were presumably on the right track. As of last month, all mentions of a delivery date for the T1 were removed from TrumpMobile.com. In an even more direct about-face, a Pre-Order Deposit Terms and Conditions page appeared on April 6. It reads:

A preorder deposit provides only a conditional opportunity if Trump Mobile later elects, in its sole discretion, to offer the Device for sale. A deposit is not a purchase, does not constitute acceptance of an order, does not create a contract for sale, does not transfer ownership or title interest, does not allocate or reserve specific inventory, and does not guarantee that a Device will be produced or made available for purchase.

However, as of today, the narrative is shifting. Trump Mobile CEO Pat O’Brien told USA Today that the T1 phones will begin shipping this week and all pre-ordered phones should be delivered within the next several weeks. It looks like this may actually be the case. CNET’s director of content saw an order update for his T1 that reads “Awaiting Sim Assignment.”

Time will tell if Trump Mobile’s T1 makes its way to consumers. If it does, expect it to be put through its paces by tech editors. We’ll keep you posted on any updates and reviews.
