Apple is always finding innovative ways to market its products, but partnering with Medicare insurers to promote the Apple Watch might be their best strategy yet. Read on to learn about the insane discount Devoted Health members are getting on the health and fitness device.

Did you think you couldn’t afford the new Series 7 Watch? Well, if you join Devoted Health, you probably can because members can put $150 worth of “Wellness Bucks” toward the Apple Watch of their choosing. For Series 7, that would be nearly 40% off! And, what’s great about their Wellness Bucks is they aren’t only for the Watch; you can also put them toward fitness classes and weight loss programs!

While Devoted Health is not the first insurer to give its members Apple Watch discounts, it sure stands out in the crowd. Unlike other insurers partnering with Apple, Devoted Health is a start-up Medicare Advantage insurer, meaning it’s a private company covering Medicare benefits for older Americans.

According to Kaiser Family Foundation, 20 million Americans received care through Medicare Advantage in 2018.

So, although Devoted Health is a smaller insurer, Apple is doing the right thing in targeting Medicare Advantage due to its commonality for those over 65 years old. Heart rate monitoring, fall detection, ECG app, and step tracking are just some of the many ways seniors can benefit from the Apple Watch.

Apple is in talks with a number of health insurers to cover the Apple Watch, but this represents an early move into the senior market. For more information ON COVERAGE check out these plans BELOW:
