macOS 10.12.3 Beta 4 Officially Released to Developers

macOS features upgrades to Siri, picture-in-picture support, auto unlock, a universal clipboard, and a host of upgraded and revamped apps, and has been quite the hit with users. And since its release in September, Apple has consistently rolled out updates to the OS – 10.12.1 was released in October, and 10.12.2 was released in December, each adding performance enhancements and new features.

Beta releases of macOS 10.12.3 began rolling out in December of last year, and this morning, just a few days after releasing the third 10.12.3 beta, Apple began rolling out the fourth 10.12.3 beta to developers.

The previous macOS Sierra 10.12.3 beta releases didn’t add any exciting new features for users, instead focusing on bug fixes and performance improvements. It appears as if the fourth beta is more of the same.

According to Apple’s release notes, the update “improves the stability, compatibility, and security of your Mac.” While Apple hasn’t officially confirmed anything that was specifically fixed or improved, a report from MacRumors claims that the update “fixes a Safari bug that caused battery life problems during the MacBook Pro testing conducted by Consumer Reports.” The update also may contain fixes to some bugs that were affecting the Touch Bar on the latest MacBook Pro laptops that were still present in the third 10.12.3 beta issued earlier this week, but that has yet to be confirmed.

The update is currently available to developers registered with the Apple Developer Center, or through the Updates tab in the Mac App Store. Apple will likely release a public beta available to those in the public beta program within the next week.
