Apple Arcade has been out for a little over a week now, and the hype is slowly fading away as people have seen nearly everything it currently has to offer. While having a big library full of awesome, exclusive games is really nice, it may not be enough for some people.

Which leads to the question: Is Apple Arcade worth it for you? Should you skip it or should you get on board with yet another subscription service? That’s what we’ll discuss today, and hopefully, it’ll help you make a decision.

What’s Apple Arcade?

Some of you might not know exactly what Apple Arcade is, so I’ll explain it briefly. Apple Arcade is Apple’s new subscription service focused on videogames.

For $4.99 a month you get access to a full library of exclusive games. Apple promised over 100 exclusive games, but we received over 60 at launch with new games coming every week. That may seem like a lot, so if you want to know where to start here are 10 games you should try first.

All games available on Apple Arcade are ad-free and they don’t have in-game purchases either. Plus you can use it on your iPhone, iPad, Mac (coming this fall), and Apple TV without losing your progress, and you can share it with up to six family members.

The Good and the Bad

Just like any other subscription service, Apple Arcade has positive and negative factors to take into account. The bright side is that the negative aspects are not deal-breakers.

Let’s begin with the positive. This is Apple Arcade’s bread and butter: exclusivity. You’ll enjoy a bunch of exclusive games from different genres. From puzzles to action and battle royale games. All of them developed specifically for Apple devices. This means that as long as you have iOS 13 on your device, you can expect games to run smoothly and without any trouble.

I’ve tried some of these games on an iPhone 6s, which is the oldest iPhone to support iOS 13, and I’ve haven’t experienced any issues.

Another great feature is that you can now connect your PS4 or Xbox One controller to your Apple device. Now playing on the go is easier, and you don’t have to buy another controller to do it.

With Apple Arcade you can also play on different devices and different people can use it. Finally, you can also download games and play them offline.
