Apple fans rejoice – iOS 8.1.1 has been released to the public. This newest update is available for any device capable of running iOS 8, including iPhones 4S through the 6 and 6 Plus, all second generation and newer iPads, and the fifth generation iPod Touch.

While Apple did report that there are several “bug fixes” in this most recent release, such as cellular connectivity bugs, and problems users have been reporting while using iCloud Drive and other apps, this release is probably most exciting for those of us that are using older Apple devices. Devices such as the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 suffered a hit in performance with the feature-rich iOS 8 and iOS 8.0.1 releases. This new update promises enhanced performance and stability for these older devices.

To install the iOS 8.1.1 update, simply navigate your device to Settings > General > Software Update for an over-the-air download. If, by chance, you don’t have enough free storage on your device for an over-the-air update, it is available on iTunes, as well. Make sure to backup all of your data, and then enjoy the new and improved iOS.
