These Insane One-of-a-Kind Sneakers Feature Built-in Wi-Fi, LCD Display, and More

Virgin America has debuted a pretty interesting new product: a pair of shoes called the First Class sneakers — and they’re built with some pretty insane features for a shoe.

At first glance, the crisp, white sneakers might fool you into thinking they’re a normal pair of shoes, but on closer inspection, you’ll see the details that set them apart. The First Class sneakers, true to their name, are designed to recreate the experience of flying in a Virgin America first class cabin. They’re crafted with white Italian leather — the same leather used to make Virgin’s first class seats — and LEDs reminiscent of Virgin’s cabin mood-lighting. They’re also outfitted with a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot, a genuine airline seatbelt buckle, a USB port connected to a battery, and even a tiny LCD screen to watch movies on, according to Gizmodo. They’re not particularly practical or stylish, of course. But they are — at the very least — insanely unique.

The sneakers were created in a collaboration with a creative marketing agency called Eleven, Inc. And if exclusivity is what you’re seeking in a pair of shoes, there’s literally only one pair of these sneakers in existence — and they’re being auctioned on eBay, according to WSAU. So at least you’re guaranteed to never run into someone wearing the same pair of sneakers as you.

And before you brush them off as a simple, heartless marketing ploy, you should know that the auction’s proceeds will benefit Soles4Souls, a nonprofit group that focuses on providing shoes and other clothing items to people in impoverished communities across the globe, Mashable reported.

As of the writing of this article, there were 59 bids on the shoes — with the last highest bid clocking in at $8,900. There’s only a few days left in the auction — so if you want to own them, you better act fast.
