Nokia has stirred quite the buzz since it was announced that they would return to the phone market. Earlier this year, Finnish company HMD Global — made up of former Nokia and Microsoft employees — negotiated a contract that allows them to use the Nokia brand on a new series of Android-based smartphones.

Many facts point to a late 2016 launch for 3 to 4 Nokia-branded smartphones, according to news story put out by Chinese site, The Paper — and translated by Android Authority. But, currently, the company has been keeping all of us in the dark as far as any details on its comeback devices. That is, until now.

Nokia might have teased one of its newest smartphones in an official promotional picture posted on the company’s Twitter.

In the picture, which is one a woman holding a blue-colored smartphone in her hand, we only see the backside of the device — and it’s definitely possible that it’s actually not one of the upcoming Nokia-branded handsets. But it’s definitely odd timing to release such a suspicious image — and it’s not outside of the realm of possibility that Nokia is being coy in giving us the smallest glimpse at their new devices.

The baby blue-colored smartphone in the picture resembles a Nokia N1 tablet, Ubergizmo points out. But unlike that device, Nokia won’t actually produce the Android-based smartphone licensed by HMD Global — instead, they’ll be manufactured by the Taiwan-based Foxconn, according to SlashGear. So while this promotional image might not be showing Nokia’s new devices at all, it’s certainly helping to spur the buzz around the company’s return to the smartphone market.
