Get your credit cards ready. Amazon Prime Day is coming soon. The online retailer announced that its two-day savings extravaganza will start on July 12. Take advantage of the store-wide discounts to treat yourself to something new or snag a gift for a loved one. It’s never too early to start shopping for the holidays.

Prime Day happens every year and is the retailer’s most significant sales event. The event is typically held over the summer, but it was delayed in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. Every year Amazon slashes prices across all its product categories, with extra discounts on Amazon products like Kindles, Fire TVs, and more.

Prime Day starts this year on July 12 and ends on July 13, but the sales don’t end there. Amazon typically offers special discounts the week before the Prime Day sale. If you want to save money, you should start checking Amazon daily for new deals beginning in early July.

There is one catch. You must be an Amazon Prime member to take advantage of these Prime Day discounts. You can pay for Amazon Prime, but it can be costly, especially if you are not a regular Amazon customer. Prime does have other benefits beyond free shipping. Each membership includes access to Prime Video, Prime Music, Prime Gaming, and more.

You can choose between a monthly Amazon Prime membership that costs $14.99 per month or an annual plan that’ll set you back $139 per year. Discounts are available for students as well as select government assistance recipients. There’s even a free 30-day trial that you can use for Prime Day shopping. Just don’t forget to cancel it when you are done deal hunting.
