What’s the latest iPhone?

The latest iPhone isn’t just one; there are actually four different models. At the time of writing, the latest iPhone available is the iPhone 13 and the iPhone 13 lineup. 

Apple announced the iPhone 13 lineup in 2021 and released different iPhone 13 models: The 5.4-inch iPhone 13 mini, the 6.1-inch iPhone 13, the 6.1-inch iPhone Pro, and the 6.7-inch iPhone 13 Max Pro. 

As you can probably guess, iPhone released two regular iPhone 13 models and two Pro models that are more expensive and come it a few extra improvements. 

What Does the iPhone 13 Have to Offer?

The iPhone 13 didn’t have many updates compared to the previous model, the iPhone 12, but it did bring a couple of cool features that you might want to know about.

Starting with the design, the iPhone 13 reduces the size of the notch at the front while still using Face ID. Apple has yet to use an in-display Touch ID, but at least now you have more screen real estate thanks to the reduced notch. 

The basic models, the iPhone 13 mini and the iPhone 13, also got a better camera, especially when it comes to the Ultra Wide. Both basic iPhone 13 models feature a sensor-shift optical image stabilization to take better pictures with less movement or noise in your shots.

Additionally, the Ultra Wide camera was improved so you could take better pictures even in low-light scenarios. 

On the inside, all iPhone 13 models come with the A15 Bionic chip, the most powerful iPhone chip that Apple’s released so far. The A15 chip not only does it make the iPhone much faster than its predecessor, but it also helps improve battery life and take better pictures and video.

Other features that are worth mentioning are the Ceramic Shield at the front of the iPhone. This much stronger glass is up to 4 times tougher to break than in previous models. But keep in mind, it’ll still scratch easily. 

All the iPhones now come with a MagSafe feature. MagSafe is basically a magnet located on the back of the iPhone that you can use to attach accessories like wireless chargers, phone cases, and even MagSafe wallets. 

On top of all that, the iPhone 13 lineup now features 5G support. That means that you’ll get a faster connection even when you’re out and about. 

These last features aren’t necessarily new or exclusive to the iPhone 13, but they’re still some of the coolest features the iPhone 13 offers that are worth mentioning.

Cool Features the iPhone 13 Has

Apple also improved the iPhone 13 lineup to add a few new features worth mentioning. 

Starting with Cinematic Mode. This feature lets you record videos as if you’re filming a movie. Your iPhone’s camera immediately holds focus on the front subjects while also giving them a depth-of-field around them to make your shot more immersive. Plus, you can shoot and edit all your videos from the iPhone 13 Pro lineup, and you can even shoot in Dolby Vision HDR. 

There’s also ProMotion on a couple of iPhones. ProMotion lets your iPhone automatically adjust the refresh rate of your screen to bump it up to 120 Hz when you’re scrolling through your social media feed or playing a game, but it lowers it to 60 Hz if you aren’t actively using your iPhone to save some battery.

Unfortunately, ProMotion is only available on the higher-end, more expensive iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, but it’s still a nice feature to have.

Speaking of features exclusive to the iPhone 13 Pro models, there’s also Macro Photography. This feature lets you use the lens on your iPhone 13 Pro cameras and the autofocus system to take macro photos and capture the smallest details you would’ve missed with a normal photo. 

What’s the Price of the iPhone 13?

This is when things start to get expensive. The iPhone 13 lineup isn’t necessarily budget-friendly, but they aren’t the most expensive smartphones either.

The iPhone 13 mini starts at $699, and the iPhone 13 starts at $799. The Pro models take it a bit farther, with the iPhone 13 Pro starting at $999 and the iPhone 13 Pro Max starting at $1,099.

The iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini come in six different colors, including Green, Pink, Blue, Midnight, Starlight, and (Product)Red. Additionally, you can choose if you want 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB of storage.

The iPhone 13 Pro models only come in 5 different colors: Alpine Green, Silver, Gold, Graphite, and Sierra Blue, and you can choose a 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB capacity. You read that right; you can choose to buy an iPhone with 1 terabyte of storage. Of course, that’ll cost you at least $1,500.

Should You Buy the iPhone 13?

There’s no doubt that the iPhone 13 is one of the best smartphones in the world, no matter which model you choose. However, if you’re willing to wait, or you don’t need to upgrade your iPhone right now. We’d suggest you wait a few more months. 

Apple’s rumored to release an iPhone refreshment in just a few months. If the rumors and speculations are true, we might see the iPhone 14 lineup as soon as September. That’s just at most three months away—depending on when you read this. 

If you aren’t in a hurry and you have the money to buy an iPhone 13 right now, you could just wait for a few more months, and you would get the newest, best iPhone that Apple has to offer. Or, even better, you could find the iPhone 13 for a way lower price.
