Leaked photos and a video may shed light on a completely redesigned feature slated for iPhones running iOS 14.

The following images are the first examples of iOS 14 to be leaked to the public and show major changes to Apple’s mobile operating system.

iOS 14 Grid Switcher Leaks

In the leaks, we can see an iPhone 11 Pro Max running an internal build of iOS 14, which will launch later this year.

But what’s most interesting about this iOS 14 internal build is the unique multitasking feature that’s vastly different than the current version available in iOS 13 for iPhone.

In fact, the new multitasking system basically comes from the iPad, allowing users to switch between a variety of apps on the iPhone quicker than they’ve ever been able to before.

The new multitasking layout is called “Grid Switcher,” and users will be able to shift back and forth between the older “Deck Switcher” and the new version in Settings.

There also seems to be an Automatic Mode, which presumably would change the multitasking layout depending on how many open apps are running in the background.

The photos and video were first shared with 91mobiles and come from Ben Geskin, a reliable source who regularly shares Apple leaks. Geskin confirms via Twitter that this is not a Jailbroken feature, but a true update coming to Apple’s official version of iOS 14.

iOS 14 Rumored Features

In addition to improved multitasking, iOS 14 is expected to feature a revamped UI that will be less intrusive, squash bugs, and may also introduce smarter, more sophisticated Siri AI.

Not much else is known about iOS 14, as it’s been kept tightly under wraps.

However, we do know for certain that more than 117+ new emoji are coming to iOS 14 including a potted plant, teapot, piñata, nesting dolls, mirror, mousetrap, bucket, window, plunger, magic wand, and toothbrush.

In related rumors, Apple’s upcoming flagship, the iPhone 12 Pro Max, is expected to feature a massive 6.7-inch screen that will make use of iOS 14’s updated multitasking capabilities brilliantly.

Other new features expected for the iPhone 12 lineup include 5G support, improved ProMotion displays with increased efficiency, larger battery capacity, and a new Navy Blue color option that’s suspected to replace the Midnight Green color from the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max.
