Although we aren’t likely to see Apple’s Vision Pro up close and personal before 2024, the excitement around the product is palpable as developers prepare to deliver new experiences for their apps.

It’s not just developers, though. It seems that accessory makers are also eager to embrace the new headset. Boutique lifestyle brand Casetify, best known for its extensive lineup of smartphone cases with custom and licensed designs, is throwing its hat into the ring early with the launch of Bounce Vision, which promises a complete set of options to customize and accessorize the Vision Pro.

While Apple hasn’t set much about the kind of first-party accessories it plans to make available for its premium mixed-reality headset (or even what will be included in the box), it’s always been a given that third-party companies will be ready and eager to step up to the plate and fill that gap.

Whatever Apple offers isn’t likely to be nearly as fun and whimsical as what Casetify has come up with. Nor as versatile, considering that Casetify has long been offering fully custom iPhone cases — and plans to do the same for its Bounce Vision lineup.

In today’s press release, Casetify says the new product line is “designed to provide customers with a personalized and unique experience, enabling users to create their own tailor-made accessories for their Apple Vision Pro.” Accessories will include replacement headbands, protective bumpers for the external display, neck straps, and eyepiece cushions, all of which can be fully customized to allow Vision Pro owners to express their individuality.

Customers will be able to design their own distinctive look by combining their own colors, patterns, and textures, or even uploading their own design or photo for a completely unique and custom headband or case.

With plenty of customization options at their fingertips, customers can create accessories that authentically reflect their personality and style when rocking their latest gadget from Apple.

Bounce Vision expands on Casetify’s protective Bounce cases for the iPhone and other smartphones, which suggests that the accessories will also offer some degree of protection for the $3,500 headset. We’ll have to wait and see whether the standard eye cushion and headband will do significantly more than the standard Apple ones. Still, Casetify will offer a bumper to help protect the external display for anybody using the headset for vigorous activities or in cramped spaces.

Casetify doesn’t yet appear to have a carrying case in its lineup. However, that could change as it plans to “continuously explore new accessory designs and materials possibilities that prioritize protection” and “safeguard” the Apple Vision Pro.

It remains an open question how necessary this kind of protection will be for the first-generation headset, which, from Apple’s demos, seems like something most folks will use in a relatively stationary environment. Developers working with the visionOS betas have also confirmed the Vision Pro has a speed limit and a “safe zone” that may restrict how much you can move around while using it.

One developer even suggested it’s a device aimed primarily at couch potatoes. The examples Apple showed during the headset’s 45-minute WWDC keynote showcase seemingly confirm this notion, with wearers sitting down or standing in relatively stationary positions. Surprisingly no examples were shown of the Vision Pro being used for fitness activities or interactive VR games, suggesting that the first-generation headset may not be quite ready to tackle those types of activities.

Nevertheless, the Vision Pro isn’t going to come cheap, so if you’re planning to buy one, you’ll likely want to protect it even if you only plan to use it while sitting on your couch. When Casetify launches its Bounce Vision collection in early 2024, you’ll be able to do this with a bit more flair.
