Apple’s Loop You In event has come and gone, and while there were certainly some great releases from the company, we can’t help but feel like we want more.

Sure, a new iPhone, iPad, and version of iOS are cool, but an Apple Car would have been nice. Just kidding (not really), but here are some of the products we wish were released yesterday.

1. New MacBooks

Apple Recalls MacBook Chargers Due to Major Flaw

Apple will most likely wait until later this year to release a new range of MacBooks, but we would have liked to see it at this week’s event nonetheless.

Digitimes is reporting that we will now see new 13-inch and 15-inch MacBooks sometime before summer, and the MacBook Pro is actually slated to get a new design.

The laptops will be a little thinner, according to the report, and will feature Intel’s new range of processors, most likely its Skylake range. This does actually make sense, as one of the key features of the Skylake processors is the fact that they’re very energy efficient, something that would enable Apple to drastically reduce how thick its laptops are. In fact, the report suggest that the next MacBook Pro will have almost Air-like thinness, something that could be very interesting for the future of Apple’s computer lineup, and could even make the MacBook Air redundant.

It’s most likely that we’ll see the new MacBooks unveiled at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference this year.

2. A New Mac Mini

image2The Mac Mini has largely been forgotten about, but that doesn’t mean that it’s not a great device. Well, it was a great device. The Mac Mini currently for sale is a few years old and really needs a spec refresh – in fact it wasn’t updated at all in 2015.

We will probably get some form of Mac Mini news this year. Apple should update the device at some point this year, or else it will probably kill the computer, which may not be performing as well as Apple would have liked, especially not compared to the other Macs in Apple’s lineup.

If Apple does update the Mac Mini, it will most likely be at WWDC this year.

3. A New Apple Watch

This one was a bit of a long shot, but believe it or not the Apple Watch is starting to age. It’s been around a year since the first Apple Watch was released, and if Apple is going to stick to its annual release cycle, then the company will be looking to release a new version of the device in the near future.

In fact, TechCrunch reports that we should expect to see a new Apple Watch very soon, however it’s not expected that the device will get a very big update.

In fact, the report argues that the new Apple Watch will really only add a FaceTime camera, and nothing else. That’s arguably not enough to make it the Apple Watch 2, so perhaps Apple will be looking to offer an incremental update like it does with the “s” iterations of the iPhone.

4. An Apple TV Subscription Service

Disney Channel Takes over Apple TV with 4 New Apps

Sure, no one expected to see this, but it still would have been nice to see. Apple has been rumored to be working on a TV subscription service for Apple TV for a while now, and although those plans seem to have fallen through, it’s doubtful that the company will let the plans go to waste completely.

It may take a few years for Apple to pull together all the plans to make the service actually happen, however as TV networks continue to realize that they need to do something to bring their shows to the masses, the networks holding Apple back will likely stop holding it back.

As mentioned, we probably shouldn’t expect Apple’s TV subscription service for a few years at least. If the company is able to pull things together this year, that will be great, but certainly don’t expect that to happen.

Conclusions

There are plenty of things we would like to see from Apple, but that doesn’t mean we’re going to actually see them. Yes, we would like to see the Apple Car, but that probably won’t be until 2019 or 2020, if reports are to be believed.

In any case, we are excited about what we actually did see from the “Loop You In” event, including the iPhone SE, and the new iPad Pro.
