The Unicode-based ? Apple symbol is a handy glyph that can be used to stylize Apple products — or even save characters on Twitter. But how do you type it on an iPhone or an iPad?

But that doesn’t mean you can’t use the ? Apple symbol on your iOS devices. As of right now, you still can, but it requires setting up a keyboard shortcut. Here’s how to do that.

1. Copy the  ?  Apple symbol anywhere on this post.

2. Launch Settings on your iOS device.

3. Tap on General.

4. Tap on the Keyboard option.

5. Tap “Shortcuts” or “Text Replacement”.

6. Tap the Plus symbol at the top right.

7. Double tap next to Phrase. This will bring up the edit menu.

8. Tap Paste to insert the ? Apple symbol into the field.

9. Enter your shortcut — this can be anything of your choosing. Just make sure it’s easily memorable. The word ‘Apple’ might be your best bet.

10. Tap Save.

At this point, you’ll be able to type the ? Apple symbol anywhere you’d like by typing your text shortcut.
