Apple’s iPhone 7 Plus to Launch in September 2016 with 3GB of RAM

According to the notoriously reliable and accurate analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple’s third-generation plus-sized iPhone handset will boast even more RAM than its predecessor.
More specifically, Kuo states that 3GB of RAM will be embedded into the company’s next-generation “A10″ system on a chip (SoC).
First revealed by AppleInsider on Tuesday, the news comes straight from a copy of KGI securities’ most recent report from Apple’s supply chain. In the report, Kuo revealed that, while the 4.7-inch “iPhone 7” is expected to retain the same 2GB of RAM as the iPhone 6s, the larger model “iPhone 7 Plus” will up-the-ante by a full GB to bolster even greater performance possibilities.
Additionally, both phones are expected to sport the next-generation mobile processor from Apple — even despite the RAM difference — which is likely to be known as the “A10” CPU.
If Apple decides to stay consistent with its recent tradition, it’s likely that the next-generation iPhone will debut in September of 2016. In addition, it’s expected that Apple will introduce a revamped external design for its next iPhone; however, Kuo did not specify any details on those changes in Tuesday’s report.
Back in September, Kuo revealed that the next-generation iPhone is expected to be Apple’s thinnest handset yet. Specifically, he claimed that the company is aiming to make the 2016 upgrade as thin as 6 millimeters, which would be even thinner than the most recent iPod touch and iPad Air 2.
Ming-Chi Kuo has a notoriously strong track record when it comes to accurately predicting Apple’s future product plans. For instance, he correctly made predictions about all of the company’s fall 2015 product line-up, such as how a slightly thicker iPhone 6s with Series 7000 aluminum and Force Touch input would be released, as well as a larger, 12-13 inch iPad Pro with pressure-sensitive stylus — now known as the Apple Pencil.
Additionally, he predicted back in April that the company would not launch a new 4-inch iPhone model this year, although he did say on Tuesday that it’s expected Apple will launch a 4-inch, metal handset featuring the A9 chip in early 2016.
