The iOS 10 beta has been available to developers for a few weeks now, and as expected there is plenty of excitement about what’s headed to the iPhone in the public release this fall.
Apple is updating quite a few headline elements of the iPhone in iOS 10 along with adding some brand new features.

Of course, like with every iOS update, there are many small features we will spend the next year discovering. In this video, we take a look at the iOS 10 beta running on an iPhone 6s Plus to give you and idea of what major new changes you can expect later this year.

3D Touch Enhancements

There have been rumors surrounding Apple’s commitment to 3D Touch, but the enhancements the company has slated for iOS 10 indicates there are no plans of slowing down 3D Touch development.

Both the lock screen and home screen feature more 3D Touch options than ever before. For example, notifications can now be pressed to reveal more information along with actions available for the particular notification. In iOS 10, so much can be accomplished without ever needing to leave the lock screen.

Control Center in iOS 10 is also redesigned including 3D Touch support for all the options across the bottom. The music controls have been moved over to their own page making Control Center much less cluttered.

Messages

It was a bit of a surprise, but the Messages app and the upcoming enhancements to iMessage stole the show during the WWDC keynote. Apple explained Messages is the most used app on iPhone and making the messaging experience richer is a primary focus in iOS 10.

Photos

In response to Google Photos, which was recently released, the Photos app is also getting some great new features like contextual photo search and a new Memories tab.
