Apple held a significant spring event in 2021, and I’d argue that the Spring Loaded event was the best Apple Event this year. The spring event for 2022 is expected to bring even more exciting things from Apple Park.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, we are expected to get a new addition to the iPhone SE lineup, a redesigned iMac 27″, a redesigned iPad Pro lineup, and a redesigned Mac mini.

This event is already pretty packed since three of the products will have new designs, as reported.

iPad Pro 2022

The iPad Pro in the spring of 2021 received a massive upgrade in terms of performance with the M1 chip, but it was the same design as the iPad Pro 2020 that added another camera and the LiDAR sensor from the iPhone.

The 2022 iPad Pro is expected to receive a glass back with support for Qi wireless charging and Apple’s MagSafe puck. The 11″ iPad Pro is also expected to receive a mini-LED Liquid Retina XDR display.

iMac 27″ 2022 (iMac Pro)

Apple still has the Intel 27″ iMac available for sale right now that was released in August 2020. The rumors were that the new iMac was supposed to be 30″ with a mini-LED display without a chin, but display analyst Ross Young says otherwise. He is 100% accurate. He says that the iMac will receive a 27″ mini-LED display along with a new design. This design will look similar to the 24″ iMac.

Mark Gurman also said earlier this year after the launch of the 24″ iMac that Apple paused development on the bigger iMac to focus on the 24″ iMac launch. A release in the spring makes sense as Apple launched the 24″ iMac this past spring about five months after the M1 chip was introduced. The M1 Pro and M1 Max were introduced in October – so five months from now would be the spring season – March 2022.

iPhone SE Plus 2022

Many folks, including myself, have reported that the next iPhone SE will get the A15 chip along with 5G as well as a few other spec updates. While in 2023, the iPhone SE will receive a brand-new colorful design.

Display Analyst Ross Young says the next iPhone SE coming in Q1 2022 will be an iPhone SE Plus, not the 3rd generation iPhone SE. He said the next-generation SE will come in 2023 with a brand-new XR-like design and no notch.

This next SE will add the Plus Moniker, so I imagine Apple is keeping the 2020 SE around.

Mac mini 2022

The next Mac mini is also expected for this event. Apple was expected to release this Mac mini at the October 2021 event but only released the new MacBook Pro models. Jon Prosser gave us a look at this device months ago and said it could add the iMac’s colors, which I do believe since Apple’s colorizing many of its devices. This will be a good addition to launch alongside the iMac 27″ since both will be replacing their current Intel variants.
