We’ve known for a while now that Apple is planning on take the wraps off its newest 4-inch iPhone soon. And while we’re still unsure about several of the last minute, bits and pieces details, we do know that the device is slated to be a revitalized incarnation of the company’s latest 4-inch handsets (the iPhone 5s) — thought it will feature, according to sources, a slew of the latest and greatest internals and a new name: either the ‘iPhone 5se’ or the ‘iPhone 6c.’

This week, however, information has surfaced from a 3rd party case manufacturer, which all but confirms what we’ve been hearing in terms of what to expect from Apple’s latest and greatest 4-inch baby. And all signs point to an essential copy of the company’s iPhone 5s.

The renderings — which were originally obtained by 9to5Mac, in conjunction with the case-maker’s reported schematics and dimensions — show that, not only is the iPhone 5se, in essence, a mirror image of the iPhone 5s, but it’s also said to fit in the same iPhone 5s cases too.

Unfortunately, however, as they’ve mentioned in their report, there are a few minor changes to the device that might not bode so well with your pre-existing iPhone 5s case. The schematics reveal that the sleep/wake button — which was originally located at the top of the iPhone 5s, has now been relocated to the side of the device — similar to how it’s oriented on the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.

The second difference, as reported by the case manufacturers, is that the edges of the device’s front panel and glass screen are somewhat curved — though not as curved as those on the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, so they say.

Schematics obtained and shown off by the website iGeneration all but confirm these changes; however, while the relocated power switch isn’t particularly identifiable by the renderings alone, they do show what appears to be a small “camera bump” — similar to that on the iPhone 6/6s.

Aside from those minor changes, however, the forthcoming iPhone 5se is said to be externally identical to the iPhone 5s — which is essentially identical to 2012’s iPhone 5, featuring metal plates around back, glass caps on the top and bottom of the device, and a FaceTime camera that’s dead-centered above the front facing speaker.

Insofar as the device’s internals are pertinent, various sources have indicated that the new iPhone will boast Apple’s latest A9 and M9 chips, an upgraded camera module of a yet-to-be-revealed pixel count, and an NFC chip for Apple Pay. Additionally, joining the original Gold, Silver, and Space Gray color options of the iPhone 5s, will be a Rose Gold option.

The device will apparently be available in both 16GB and 64GB storage options, and carry over the iPhone 5s’ price tag as well. Various sources have confirmed that Apple is likely to reveal the iPhone 5se at an exclusive media event taking place on March 15th, and that the device will likely hit shelves just a few days later on the 18th. At the same aforementioned event, the Cupertino-company is also expected to reveal several new Apple Watch band options, as well as a revamped 9.7-inch ‘iPad Air 3’ — boasting internals consistent with those of the iPad Pro, just packed into a much smaller form factor, of course.
