A possible slip-up by one of the world’s most secretive companies keeps people guessing.

The new Lightning Dock has been long awaited, and is receiving quite a bit of attention on Apple’s website. While customers were shopping on Apple’s site for a new dock, some encountered a photo that looks a little out of the ordinary. What consumers saw on Apple’s website appears to be a iPhone 5C, but with something missing. What’s missing is the distinctive home button logo, which was ubiquitous on iPhone and iPod touch prior to the release of the Touch ID sensor.

The long rumored iPhone 6C might have been revealed accidentally by Apple.

The rumor mill has been churning with talk of a new 4″ iPhone 6C, which would be the entry level addition to the iPhone 6S lineup. Some reliable Apple aficionados, one by the name of  Ming-Chi Kuo, have stated that the 6C is not being produced. Kuo was the man who dropped numerous details on the iPhone 6S and seems to have reliable insight into Apple’s developments.

If Kuo’s predictions are accurate, this could be a photo of an iPhone 5C mock-up. The designers might have forgone the traditional home button in favor of the more appealing Touch ID home button. We know this is not the iPhone 6 form factor as we can see the lock button positioned on the top of the phone, exactly like the iPhone 5C.

If this is in fact an iPhone 6C, we wouldn’t likely see a specification boost. Apple would most likely use the internals of the iPhone 6 in the 6C, while keeping the form factor of the more traditional iPhone 5C.

Hopefully Apple goes through with production of the 6C, as people with smaller hands will surely be delighted.
